What most Americans Miss about WW 2, is that England and France Declared War on Germany for attacking Poland. The Polish Corridor was part of Germany until the end of WW 1 when it was taken from Germany, but the German population was left in place of the 50 Mile wide strip of Germany that was given to Poland as a Buffer Zone...Those Germans welcomed the German Army...
The point missed is that, Russia, in a deal cooked up by Hitler, Attacked and Invaded Poland proper on the opposite side of Poland the same day the Germans took their land and people back...
England and France Declared War on Germany for invading Poland, BUT, they caught a case of Lockjaw, and Failed to Declare War on Russia For Invading Poland... Then went on to Ally with the Russian Invaders against Germany.....
When they declared WW 2 won and Over, Patton said, What do you mean it is over? You Supposedly Fought this whole War to Free Poland, and right now, the Russian Army is Still Occupying Poland.....Over? What do you mean it is Over?
The Russians were fighting against the Germans by the end of the war. That might have just a little to do with that. Don't ya think? How many US generals do you think thought we should attack Iran in the "war on terror"?

Don't forget Eisenhower waited on the Russians to the catch up as the war was nearing the end. Had Eisenhower listened to Patton and MaCarthur there very well could have been no Cold War, No veitnam war, no Korean war. Or very short ones without a Soviet Union that had half the world as slaves.
It would have been difficult for us (US) to go after Stalin, our "ally" but Patton had a point. The national socialist fascist were defeated, and the communist should have been, as the cold war proved communism does not work, so possibly millions of lives were spared, yet we still have Putin who longs for the "good old days" as he clearly demonstrates today.

So as the Treaty of Versailles was to Hitler, the U.S. Constitution is to Obama.
