Approval of the Keystone XL pipeline could generate $100 billion in profits for billionaire brothers Charles and David Koch, according to a report released Sunday, which revealed the extent to which the Kochs would benefit from the tar sands development the proposed pipeline would help spur.

A progressive think tank called the International Forum on Globalization completed the study, which found that the Kochs and their privately-owned company, Koch Industries, hold up to 2 million acres of land in Alberta, Canada, the proposed starting point of the Keystone XL. Several Koch Industries subsidiaries stand to benefit from the pipeline's construction, including Koch Exploration Canada, which would profit from oil development on its land, and Koch Supply and Trading, which would benefit from oil derivatives trading.

The report also estimates that the Koch brothers have given about $50 million to think tanks and members of Congress who have pushed for the pipeline to be built.

The Keystone XL pipeline is awaiting a final decision from the State Department, which is unlikely to come before 2014. If built, the pipeline would carry about 800,000 barrels of oil per day from Alberta to Gulf Coast refineries. Environmentalists worry about about the climate and environmental impacts the pipeline could have, including dramatically higher greenhouse gas emissions and a heightened risk of oil spills.

The Kochs are known for their heavy investment in the tea party and their support for congressional inaction on climate change.http://www.huffingtonpo st.com/2013/10/21/keystone-xl- koch-brothers_n_4136491.html?u tm_hp_ref=politics

Good article on the pipeline. I don't know much about this pipeline. I am guessing an oil leak could have an impact on water supplies in the mid west.

If you have read or have an article on the pro and the con of this pipeline, it would be interesting to read.

I have seen you on before, but I had not been on here long, when you left. If you don't mind my asking, why did you leave? If you don't care to answer, that is OK.

If it came to tossing you around like a rubber ball, I could do it. I could put your lights completely out. You are no match for my wit, no match in a fight, none. You are as poor as Job's turkey, and to proud to admit it. My guess you scrounge off of Obama everyday loser.
That's pretty harsh. Now you are resorting to threatening people? Why don't you try to toss me around?, I wanna have some fun.

I don't give a damn about tossing you around pal. But you don't scare me, one ounce. I have Ansel Hatfield blood in my veins from head to toe. You aren't very mean.

My mother was a Hatfield, she was mean as a Wolverine, wasn't afraid of anything or anyone. Some say I am just like her. But dear Mom passed on, may she rest in Peace. I have no quarrel with you Mr.

OK, It' just that you have a slightly violent tone to your last few posts today.

By the way, I don't have to be mean, just accurate.

All you want to do is stir up trouble like some kid.

See, that just shows how twisted your way of thinking and comprehending things is. I never said anything about killing anybody in that post. "accurate" could mean many things, you just always assume the worst. what a sad pitiful life you must lead, just sayin.

Yea right!

The Republican Party is so splintered now. The question, how many Housse seats will they lose?

Let's see, Sarah Palin out on campaign trail.

George W. Bush campaigning, that should bring in a vote or two.

Then we have Ted Cruz, the man that shut down the Government for 3 weeks.

Next up John McCain, and Sarah together again.

Followed by Ted Nugent on Gun Control.

Lindsey Graham out campaigning. that should go over well.

Chris Christie, the big man, with a big heart.

Ohio Main Man - The man that can cry a river of tears. Your very own, cry baby John Boehner.

Jeb Bush - Just what America needs another Bush.

Mitt Romney out helping the front runners.

Who could forget Herman Cain, the man for all white women.

Way to go Republicans, looks like you are all winners.

Yes I was on here alot during the election, but the name calling just got out of hand and I found myself doing the same, so it was time to go. There is alot about the Koch Bros on the web. They are Evil, selfish and greedy. They support the Tea Party and others only for reasons that benefit themselves. Google them, you have no idea how much control they have.

http://www.rtcc.org/2013/10/21/keystone-will-... marks Keystone XL’s fifth anniversary since initial plans were unveiled. It could carry 830,000 barrels per day of tar sands oil from Canada to the Gulf Coast if it goes ahead.

One barrel can produce enough gasoline to drive a medium-sized car (17 miles per gallon) over 280 miles. That’s just under the distance between Los Angeles and Las Vegas or Brighton to York in the UK.

The concern around tar sands oil lies with the fact that it can produce three times the greenhouse gas emissions of conventionally produced oil.

The particularly toxic brew from the tar sands known as dilbit makes it even riskier, given that no one knows how to clean it should a spill occur.

In 2000, the EPA fined Koch Industries $30 million for its role in 300 oil spills that resulted in more than three million gallons of crude oil leaking into ponds, lakes, streams and coastal waters, so the company’s involvement in KXL does little to dampen worries.

Permitting the pipeline would enormously expand the financial war chest the Kochs use in their crusade to oppose any controls on carbon. The report says this would concentrate the Kochs’ control over carbon pollution policies.

You mean calling people Beetle Brains? Did you like that. I hated to type that too. I donbt if it was jagged. Anyway for over a year, I have been called everything, you get used to it after awhile. Like SL calls me wide rider, is that anyway to talk to a person of my high moral character. Anyway, were you the one that is an Independent, like Bill O'Reilly, and most of the Fox Team. Isn't that a hoot? Anyway don't let that jagged edge hurt to much... PR
