I'll have to try that. It sounds good. My mom used to glaze hams with Coke. I never thought about freezing the cabbage, that would be so easy.
Cabbage rolls to Polacks like me are called golabki (pronounced go-wab-kee). Traditionally, they aren't made with the tomato sauce, but I like them with the tomato sauce or the traditional way. The sauce in the eastern European version is made with beef stock, it's reduced down and then blended with sour cream.
Oh! That sound delicious with the beef stock and sour cream. Yum!
Maybe this winter I will try that!
Thanks!!!

I remember When the kiddies were young, I made them for their close friends. Rolled them in chopped nuts. M m m m m

Made chicken soup and fried cabbage today.
Yummers!
Maybe later, something with pumpkin in it...I'm still thinking what.

Anyone have any good recipes using pumpkin?

MMMMMM chicken soup. I need to make some, haven't made any in a long long time!! I like to make a double batch of chicken stock and freeze half for chicken and dumplings later.

How do you make your fried cabbage?

My mom would make it with bacon and bacon drippings and then season it with a bit of wine vinegar and brown sugar--sweet and sour. Not sauerkraut. She called it kapusta. I still make it that way but was looking for something different. Always looking for ways to cook up seasonal veggies.

I had in a fusion Asian restaurant in Vegas last year something called fried spinach. It was really really good. It was crispy but not breaded. Wish I knew how they did that!
