Expect the Repubs to roll over on this nomination again.
Oh, and note the first "Comment" below the Dispatch article.

Then, on to local news...

http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/local...

..."may clear the way for Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald to claim the Democratic nomination to challenge Kasich...."

"...Other Democrats said to be looking at running for governor include U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Niles and former U.S. Rep. Betty Sutton of Barberton...."

Perhaps someone can answer this for me. Has Cordray ever had a real job? Has he ever been elected to a post? I know he has been appointed to several, but I can't recall if he has ever won an election. Seems like he is always running for something that the voters think he is unqualified for.

You must be new here or grew up under a rock.

Cordray worked as a lawyer at Jones Day for a time, was a SCOTUS clerk. He has been in electoral politics since 1990, and was elected Treasurer in 2006, Attorney General in 2008 to fill the Marc Dann vacancy, and then defeated for reelection in 2010 (I supported him then).

He was then very likely given an illegal recess appointment to head the CFPB.

You seem to be confusing him with Sherrod Brown, he has never had anything resembling a real job, but is far more successful electorally.(Cordray has lost two elections, Brown has only lost one)

Cordray is easily the strongest D contender against Kasich, but it appears he will not run.

That leaves Fitzgerald, who being from Cuyahoga is almost certain to lose, let alone that he has no money or name recognition.

Err, he will not be renominated. As the first appointment was UNCONSTITUTIONAL

A round of applause for the Federal Appeals Court in the DC Circuit!

Can we taxpayers receive a refund on Cordray's year of pay/expenses?

You'll get more than his salary in savings from his edicts not being enforced. Very small battle won in the bigger war of marxism vs the world.

"Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said a recent court ruling casts "serious doubt" on the constitutionality of the president's recess appointment of Richard Cordray to head a new consumer watchdog.

On Friday, a federal appeals court ruled that President Obama's controversial appointments for a trio of members to the National Labor Relations Board were unconstitutional. The 47-page opinion found that Obama ignored the Senate's "advise and consent" role by appointing them to the board while the Senate was still in session."

Obama's recess appointments were determined unconstitutional.

Cordray will not get approved either.

If the GOP congress would focus on doing what they were elected to do.... concentate on the interest of the American people, NOT their bruised egos, we would be better off.
With the intrusion of the Tea Drunks, no one crosses the isle anymore for the good of the people. Its all about sniveling nit picking of who said this and who did that......grow up and do your JOB!
They are more interested in pointing fingers than doing their job.
Wasting our money on all this crap is getting old fast. Most don't even show up...?????.
All They want is the prestige and the money, and power and pork to satisfy their constituents for re-election. Poor excuses for men.
I'ts no wonder why their approval rating is in the potty!
They did it to themselves, and America took notice.
