unrestrained individual liberty = chaos
Laws and standards exist for a reason.
Don't put words in my mouth. I'm not proposing "unrestrained" liberty, but the restraint that IS used should be limited to those situations which are demonstrably harmful. Gay marriage harms no one (hurt feelings of hetero/religious control freaks don't count).

It makes the state a sponsor of an unnatural, biologically-destructive relationship.
Society looks to the state as an authority; thus, harm occurs when citizens are influenced to follow such behaviors.

If you choose self-destructive behaviors that remove yourself from the gene pool, you have no right to insist that the state and every citizen celebrate and approve of your entirely unnatural behaviors.

A society alienated from the truth, is alienated from me.

NO! We must live out lives based on the knowledge that man had 4000 years ago.
Why can't we have a white man's religion? Why does it have to be a desert cult cooked up by camel jockeys ages ago? You would think civilized people like us would have a civilized religion.

That's an opinion, not a fact. It's not biologically-destructive because there are plenty of heterosexuals left to breed more hetero and homosexuals.

[QUOTE]Society looks to the state as an authority;
Not in this country they don't. Citizens here have independent thought (well, some of them anyway).
thus, harm occurs when citizens are influenced to follow such behaviors.
Are you being tempted? Is any hetero you know being tempted?

Me either.

Nobody is asking for celebration or approval, just to be left to their own devices to make their own way, without others trying to violate their rights. They have the same right to expect the government to PROTECT them as you or I do to expect the government to remove trespassers from our property.

attention everyone.....hey you.

The United States government is over reaching again..........

the government has ZERO business in marriage period.

Marriage is for Church.

why does a single person pay a different tax rate than a married one? Where is the civil right in that?

you have free will to do with your life as you see fit. There is consequence's for you actions.

get the Government 100% out of marriage...it is none of their business.

wait for the same sex sin tax added the the list of Government sin taxes already imposed. It is on the way, don't be shocked.

They, the government, made it their business; to say they are over reaching is a fallacy. The government created this. Equality = equality. If you so choose to attend a religious establishment that does not recognize gay marriage, okay; you choose to do so okay. My issue is with committed homosexual relationships that have no say in healthcare of a beloved, penalized financially... Could care less what you do in your bedroom and with whom.

I reiterate: equal=equal. Whatever you believe, the Lord will decide if you are wrong, not for you to decide.

We'll send the men in white coats for you one day. Conservatards are a threat to the continuation of civilization. Obviously some need reeducation.

Glitter my dear..........re-read my post.

Government by our constitution does not possess the authority to enter marriage in any way.

civil rights.

they over reach with tax exceptions regarding, and whom gets benefits.

civil right violation.

Government violates the constitution by passing any law against civil rights or liberty.

A state can legislate moral code, a city can, a school can, a business can, a bar tender can.

There is no argument. They can. That also is civil right. So one may not agree with another, it is a civil right.

you have the right to not participate, or to participate. You do not possess the right to legislate.

We as sheep allowed Government to violate our own constitution, and actually assist them in breaking their own law.

There are States that recognize same sex marriages, and some do not. That is perfectly legal and expected. Maybe those states that recognize same sex marriages start not accepting heterosexual marriages?

Federal Government has no authority to deny any citizen, any benefit that another receives because of sexual preference period. Overturning DOMA was correct by Supreme Court....it was unconstitutional.

We are wasting millions of dollars of much needed taxpayer dollars on nothing. The Government by law is not in the marriage business, and by doing so it is against civil rights act.

So by all the ranting on this board.....it is about nothing.

You American Citizen possess the God given right to your civil rights, even if you don't believe in God.

Above is protected by the law of the land, and blood of many patriots.

If people, in a state, vote and decide that is what they want, no reason for the feds to get involved.
Hey dumbkopf!! Don't you recognize that we don't put citizen's consitutional rights up to a "vote"??? Have you not heard of a little thing called Vote of the Tyranny. Peoples' rights are not subject to election, because then the majority can always oppress the minority??? How do you think it would've flowed if we had put civil rights legislation up for a vote??? Get a life you stupid woman!!
