Every single major professional sports game (baseball, basketball, football, hockey, etc.), as well as the broadcasts of any nationwide tv stations typically carried on cable tv are readily available free of charge to anyone with a) a high speed internet connection, and b) the desire to find the freely available links.
Presently, there's absolutely no reason to purchase cable tv if you have a high speed internet connection.

Some of the sources are of dubious quality, though. Malware and the like have been reported on sites from Europe streaming the NHL.

No it doesn't. He said all the games in all the major league sports.
I think you'd better re-read it.

He did not say "all the games", he said, well, see above.

Hey, If I'm right, I'll be the topix weather-god :)
If you are wrong you can't be fired. The news weather forecasts are wrong more than right yet no one is unemployed the next day.

Except in some areas (mine, for one), streaming TV off the internet will ruin the connection for everyone else in the house (that's why I operate off of my neighbor's wireless).

Ben and Jym are looking and sounding positively grim.
If it were just Jym, I wouldn't take it that seriously. But Ben is not prone to exaggeration.

Oh, I'm preparing as if it's going to hit hard (though I think it's even less likely here than in Columbus). I have a small generator that'll run the fridge, freezer, and a light or two. Can't hurt to be prepared... it just looks like it's weakening to me.

I saw that... and it looks like it's thinning as well (I'm looking at accuweather). It's only 78 here, but I'm in the sticks, it's probably warmer in town, all the pavement...

who ever it was, they left a mess of leaves and branches in the yard.
I don't think we even lost a single leaf here. It was a whole bunch of nothing on this side of town, but the Lowes at Mill Run lost some of its roof.

But you're the same guy who believed Glenn Beck was gonna expose the Boston Bombers' attendance at a White House luncheon.

How'd that work out for you and Glenn?

If you ever figure out who Ben is, you get back to me. As I told Che, this is proof that you people don't have any business here discussing local issues.
