I've never had the flu, and I've only once had the flu vaccine. I never get sick and don't worry about it.

I called to have my propane tank filled yesterday and the owner of the company, who is a friend, came on the line to tell me his 2 /12 month old granddaughter has been the first flu death in this state. She was a twin and the other baby is doing fine.

If you have children or elderly or health compromised family, please get the shot.

Make sure you use a reliable antivirus program because you can catch the flu just by opening an email sent from an infected person.

The flu shot is not as effective as once thought, and that comes straight from the CDC; additionally, there is often an underlying condition for flu deaths.

My friend said it made him sick for a few days, but he has a trach in right now.

The only time I ever had it was in 2004 when a surgeon friend called me and said he had a 'batch.' He took it himself so I let him inject me with it.

But like I said, I've never had the flu and the ONLY childhood illness I had was chicken pox. Mumps, measles....everything else skipped me. And I slept with my sisters who had them.

But that poor baby dying, and elderly, maybe they should get it. My great grandfather died in the 1918 Spanish flu epidemic. He was 32. There were babies and old people in the house and he's the only one that died.

Well, like 1/2 million died, he was the only one in that house.
