Why can't you stay on topic? What does Prescott Bush have to do with your absurd claim of 140% voter turnout in St. Lucie, Florida? Why do you keep trying to change the subject?

Simple math, dolt. Did you even read the article you posted? Even they said it was mathematically impossible to be 140%, elementary school math. Someone is lying. Either they counted more that can be possibly there, or Karl Rove came in and showed them HIS abacus.

No Paco. Not at all.

There was no 140% voter turnout in St Lucie County Florida in the 2012 general election, or anywhere else in the country.

Likewise, Prescott Bush made much of his fortune through business banking dealings with foreign companies intimately responsible for Nazi Germany's industrial ramp up to WWII, and continued those dealings for eight months after Nazis were officially declared an enemy of the United States upon its entering the war.

Facts Paco.

You hate them.

Indeed, someone is lying. My money is on the election officials...there seems to be a spate of that in this country since the turn of the century.
When I'm getting slapped, let me know...I've certainly not seen it from you, Shaq.

Run along, dolt. Your powers are weak, old man. Funny how your theory of "black letters on my city" has gone away. Dammit, boy. You are a dolt.

Sorry Bizzy Bee taking so long to get back but I was cruising the internet in various places about something I read on this topix site. It's one sentence and I have been asking others in various places to give some thoughts on it which I prolly won't check til tomorrow.
The sentence is this,
"the division will gather traction, and 50 states 10 years from now appears an impossibility!"
I went to various sites from Jax Fl up to Boston MA and out to Indy IN! it will be interesting. I hope the writer of the sentence doesn't mind me using the sentence. It piqued my curiousity what people around the country think about this.
I am not a secessionist but an American Constitutionalist who doesn't believe in the Manifest Destiny enough to surrender the USA to the USSA, in other words keep the country one no matter what. I would rather split than live under anything other than American Constitutionalism.
It prolly comes from the old Highlander love of freedom flowing through our Bannockburn brains.
This is one reason I am watching close the vote in 2014 of the Scots on independence. They are going to vote in the last part, November I believe, of 2014 whether to part or stay in the UK. Westminster has already given Edinburgh partial autonomy in Parliament over domestic policies. This was in 1999 with the presence of the Queen.
Welsh Parliament now sits in Cardiff for the first time ever and Scottish parliament in Edinburgh first since 1707. The winds of independence are indeed blowing once more.

Wow! Scotland leaving the UK. I wonder what repercussions that will have on both. Probably higher taxes, less security .reorganization of GOVTS. This should be interesting........will have to keep an eye out, as the elections here.

It isn't cut in stone Scotland leaving UK. Personally I don't think it will happen yet and I emphasise the yet. Just an educated guess, I think it is 40-40-20, Yes, No, Undecided respectively. Of course, the 20 undecided will carry the decision.
The longer the wait the more apt Salmond and the SNP will have time to convince others.
The big question or rather biggest issue is the North Sea oilfields. At the present most government revenues for the oil goes to London even those in Scottish water with Edinburgh getting a share along with England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Negotiations in lieu of independence will be sticky. Scots draw the line further south while English draws the boundary further North.
Higher Taxes with the Scots would be in the offing but Scotland would get all theirs, thereby removing part of Westminsters take reducing their portion, prolly meaning higher taxes on English, Welsh and Ulster.
Less security, I don't think that would be the case because Edinburgh-London would have to work together to protect the entire isles. Britain has airfields and sub base in Scotland and agreements and treaties would have to be worked out for the good of the entire island group.
Government reorganization. Yes, but that would prolly be a good excuse to hire more government employees. Just kidding. Westminster is in the process of tightening up and Scots are famous for their frugality.
In either case, independence or no, it is not unworkable. If it does happen, I look for Scotland to stay in after reapplying for membership in EU. A lot of English are sick of EU and wanting to pull out. Relationship between London and Brussels is very strained.

It's roughly as likely as the UK leaving the EU in 2015. Which is to say, wonderfully slim odds. You have my blessing to confidently put money against it.

I enjoyed and had a very relaxing weekend, and ready to get back at it.
This is my take on the EU and Britain situation. The EU will eventually disassemble itself. It will morph into at least two parts, the northern industrial/agriculture part and the southern agriculture/industrial part. Britain will eventually become a separate entity working in trade with both parts. It is possible a third part may enter into the scene which I will explain later.
One must remember countries are more apt to work together economically, yes, but governmentally, militarily, culturally, NO. IE, Lithuanians are not going to give up their sovereignty with includes government, military and culture to become like the rest of Europe. economics, we work together, we keep our sovereignty over our government, military and culture. Insert any people in the place of Lithuanians, French. Czechs, Dutch any of them and it works the same.
Economically we will work together, any other ly no we keep our government, military and culture.
That's how different people think and function.
Does anyone believe, in NAFTA, Canadians would give up their Canadianness, Americans give up their Americanness, or Mexicans give up their Mexicanness? I think not. It works with all peoples.
Just because the Kazakhs in Kazakhstan are in a pact with the Russian Federation doesn't mean Kazakhs will surrender their Kazakhness nor Russians their Russianness. It won't happen. Neither will it happen in the EU.

Consider what happened in Scotland in relation to England. In 1707 Scotland gave up her sovereignty to become a part of UK. In doing so England came down hard on the Scots, dissolving the Scottish parliament and then during the '45 London tried to take away all scottishness, Scottish culture even down to forbidding the wearing of the kilt and banishing the playing of the pipes. England transported thousands of Highlanders, ones she didn't kill, to the colonies, US and Canada, some of me own ancestors being among them.
London did her best to destroy Scottish culture but it was NOT accomplished. today in Scotland, England, France, Germany, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand there are many Scottish clans and games, one of the world's biggest at Grandfather Mountain, North Carolina. Every summer there is Scottish Games at Wellington, Ohio.
People will not surrender their culture to anyone if they have to fight and die for it.
As long as Merkel and the others try to work with countries economically, it is alright but telling them how to live and trying to run their entire lives including everything about their respective countries it won't work.
