Earlier today Franklin County Municipal Court Judge Amy Salerno berated a jury for coming to the wrong conclusion after they returned a verdict of not guilty in a misdemeanor assault trial. Her speech from the bench prompted at least one juror to burst into tears and another requested an escort home, fearing for her safety after the response from the judge and menacing looks from friends and family of the prosecuting witness. Additionally, the judge had invited other jurors from the jury pool to sit in the courtroom to witness the verdict. After witnessing her tirade the remaining jurors had to be dismissed, causing other trials to be delayed. This is not the first incident of misconduct I have witnessed or heard of in her courtroom but it is by far the worst. Her conduct not only demeans the dignity of the court but undermines the very idea of trial by jury. If you have witnessed any incident in her courtroom please report it to the Ohio Supreme Court at http://www.supremecourt.ohio.gov/Disciplinary... . I don't know where to start to get this before the media, but at the very least I know that todays incident is being reported to the bar and will be investigated. It may take time, but the system works, eventually.

She wanted publicity. Hopefully the removal from the bench will give this idiot all the publicity she wanted.

Oh leave her alone. She is entertaining to watch. Seeing her on the bench is better than any comedy show anywhere. She makes Judgeship an embarrasing profession.

Unreal what many of them do in their position. Other than a law degree you need no other qualification. How many become judges because they couldnt cut it in private practice. (Too many)

Amy's courtroom, Amy's rules. "Menacing looks"? Imagine that. This time they're from the victim's side.

To be a success as a lawyer in the US, a person can help themself by being a liar.

Virtually all US state and federal judges are members of the ABA, the lawyers union, and ABA union members are conditioned to lie to help enrich their union confederates.

What would be a kicker if she ever stopped to realize that everyone that is ever in her courtroom looks at her and knows that she is a total idiot and incompetent. She gets lost in the politics of staff and attorneys kissing her ass and making her think that she is admired and respected because as a "Judge" people need to - fake it.

Rated The Worst in the 2009 Preference Poll conducted by the Columbus Bar Association.

http://www.columbusmonthly.com/September-2009...

High score: 3.0 for sentencing.

Low score: 2.4 for legal knowledge.

Overall: 2.7

A bit out of date but an interesting read.

Harland Hale stepped down earlier this year giving slumlord and tOSU Assistant Dean, COE DOC-Minority Engr Program Minnie McGee a break on the Oak Street Trolley Barn properties she owns.

Here's the ABA lawyers union exercising undue influence and approving federal judges...

ABA is like other labor unions that promote enrichment of their members at the expense of quality.

Nice bit of pop wisdom, but not true. Any good attorney, including the best attorneys in any city, are going to be honest, forthright, and ethical. That doesn't mean that they won't work aggressively on behalf of their clients, but a good attorney is going to play it close to the vest so that he is not put in a position where has to lie in the first place.

There's something sad about people who quote themselves on public forums and then give some lame reason for doing it.

The prosecutors and Judges work together, make no mistake about it. God help the people that get in trouble with the Court system- it's a whole new ballgame. Expect half truths and lies and if you make it to trial your chances of getting off is fifty -fifty even if you are innocent. They want to make a name for themselves at your expense.

If you know their names ..name them, if not then shut the hell up. I hate a person not willing to give up names. It's the common people who can make a change. It's our vote that counts.

Sometimes they forget that they have to follow the law to. Sounds like she wanted to be the judge and jury. I get so sick of bullschidt like this. The jury did their job. I hope she gets suspended. We need a court system that also follows the law and if they don't they need their ass thrown out and replaced by someone that does follow the law. It's starting to seem like the old west downtown in the Court House.

I hope this Judge loses her job. Why was she showing contempt towards the jury? Oh that's right SHE found him guilty and to hell what the jury thinks. We need better folks.
