Not a trick. Correct use of math and not wingnut conjecture. That's how you would see your assumption was incorrect.
Use any value you like for inflation. Doesn't make the increasing debt a good thing. The chickens are eventually going to come home to roost. Too bad your kind doesn't have the balls to do anything about it, instead foisting it off on your children and grandchildren. If it were me, I'd cut whatever is necessary to pay 5% of the PRINCIPLE in the first year (in addition to the interest), and add two percent per year until the debt is gone. Our children didn't create this debt, they shouldn't be stuck with it.

Do you have any idea what that would cost?

Created by whom? Oh sure. Obama created the debt. If you think cutting and paying 5% of the principle is all it takes, you will understand why your opinion only makes sense to

Less than $1 trillion a year for a limited number of years (less than 17). Do YOU have any idea of what it's going to cost if we don't pay it off?

I'll bet you're one of those people who pays only the minimum on your credit cards, aren't you?

No, we all did (some of us more than others)! and it's not right to put it off on future generations.

No that's not all it will take. It will also require responsible spending habits from now on.

Are you like Che and only pay the minimum on your credit cards every month?

My financial situation is of none of your concern. I do have a black American Express card, though. Centurion. Any other questions?

First cut the budget of all "pork", then eliminate tax credits, then finally, raise taxes as much as is necessary. We should also investigate changing the tax system from an income-based one to a wealth-based one or a sales-based one.

Well actually it may be because your potential irresponsibility can cause higher prices for everyone. If you file bankruptcy, for example, that loss your debtors take doesn't simply disappear, it gets absorbed into the prices they charge their other customers. I personally think failures such as this should be severely punished. They should bring caning to this country.

Tell us more Einstein. Is Gibberish the new phrase for someone that doesn't take personal responsibility for their actions? Or does it mean what you add to this topic?

At the time Afghanistan bordered the USSR. At the present Ukraine borders Russia.
So it appears Afghanistan has displaced Canada and Iraq-Mexico in relation to the DCers.
Why am I made to appear as an apologist for Russia?
Actually I like any Russian I have ever met. I think the Kremlinists suck as much and well as the DCers.

your black card is the race card.

An American Express black card you do not have.

If you did, then your opinions regarding social issues would be opposite.

And why would you use an outdated company and card, when today you get paid to use other cards?

While Vladimir Putin is wildly unpopular in the United States, most Americans see him as a stronger leader than President Obama, according to a YouGov/Economist survey.

Only 12 percent of poll respondents have a very favorable or somewhat favorable opinion of Putin, and nearly 70 percent see him somewhat unfavorably or very unfavorably. Yet, 78 percent consider him as either somewhat strong or very strong.

Obama has a significantly higher favorability rating than Putin (47 percent), but just 45 percent of Americans see him as very strong or somewhat strong. And 55 percent believe the opposite.

Despite this overall perception of Obama as relatively weak compared to Putin, 42 percent of those polled believe that the U.S. president uses “too much power” and 45 percent say he has “exceeded the limits of authority granted” by the Constitution.

Several other national political figures earn low approval ratings in the poll. House Speaker John Boehner’s stands at 24 percent, while Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s favorability rating is 22 percent. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid fare slightly better, at 30 percent and 28 percent, respectively.

The survey of 1,000 U.S. adults was conducted March 8-10 and has a margin or error of plus or minus four percentage points.
