And that goes for all presidents since 1951, but Obama has increased the debt more than all of them.

I would have placed a carrier group near there and stated its purpose was a tactical exercise! The current method used does not send a real message at all! Of course the real question is did we have involvement in the recent uprising?

WTF! Doubling the debt no matter what the inflation factor is is still a lot of money and a threat to our future security.

What should concern American's is if interest rates rise, payments on the interest of our debt will increase tremendously. It is projected that sooner than later, interest payments on our debt will be higher than defense spending.

That is fiscally irresponsible and all politicians should be held accountable for it.

Oblamo needs to go! And Republican's need new leadership.

The debt at the end of every fiscal year is public record, and 1951 was the last year it actually went down. And of all the increases since then, the increases under Obama have been the greatest of any president, over 6 and a half trillion.

Inflation stats. Research them starting from 1951, to present day...
You're welcome.

Which inflation stats are those, the actual ones, or the ones the government wants us to believe?

Since no matter what value you use, it's not going to make an increase in the debt go away. Now negative interest rates might... THAT would be some trick...

I was at Whole Foods last week eating dinner sitting at one of the booths. The booth tabletop had reproductions of old historic Columbus postcards. One of the postcards was a depiction of the old Chittenden Hotel which featured a sign out front that said rooms starting at 1.25.

Think about that for a minute. I have no idea how nice of a hotel it was, although it was a Frank Packard designed hotel so there is a lot of architectural notoriety attach to the hotel. But let's say for example that the hotel was a low end hotel like Red Roof Inn. That means that a 1.25 back then had the buying power of $75 today. Point being the debt is just away they hide government spending. There's no such thing as a free lunch and the deficits they run are paid for through inflation.

Compare the cost of a Honda Accord over five year intervals. The rates are bogus. Yes the car has more technology and stuff, but you have no choice in the matter since all cars have 50 airbags these days.

Not a trick. Correct use of math and not wingnut conjecture. That's how you would see your assumption was incorrect.

And when one seemingly minor thing goes wrong (the door locks quit working for example), they have to replace a $2,000 computer module.
