Bless you Allison for finding the baby. Someone will make a good home for the little one. Don't know how anyone could just dump one on the side of the road. Say a prayer for the baby.

How can this mother live with herself? With all the dropoff places available she left this helpless little person naked in the grass? We treat animals better than this.

While it is most unfortunate the baby was abandoned this way, think of how the young mother may be feeling right now too. Perhaps she is scared and alone and didn't know what to do. Becareful in judging until all circumstances are known.

I agree with your comments. While it was wrong what the mother did, I think we should not judge the mother until further details are out.

It's so ashame that someone would do this to an innocent child. Hopefully someone will take the child as their own and raise him good.

I am glad the baby was found safe and sound and am even happier that he will not have to live a life with the person who could just abandon him on the side of the road.

Christians are not the only people who pray.
Maybe you should ask questions before jumping to conclusions.

I don't think she left it there for someone to find. If she really cared about that....why leave it without even a blanket to lay on.....instead of just laying it in the grass with the raging temperature that we had. I'm sorry, but I cannot feel sorry for her. She was a short distance from a Fire Station. For the baby's sake, it was good that someone found it. It will now be with someone who will love it and take care of it. Someone who does not love it and would leave it there to possibly die, would have only abused it had she kept it. How can anyone be so heartless???????

Allison Passewitz, what a courageous young lady you are. This baby owes his life to you. Thank goodness you did not choose to look away.

This person should never be a mother in her lifetime. Allison, you are this baby's "Guardian Angel". Bless you for finding him and getting help. Our prayers for the baby.

Why has there been no mention of the race of the infant? Perhaps I know a woman who has been pregnant and sudenly is not...if I know what race the child is, perhaps I could give a tip to the Sheriff's department. Is this politically correct reporting?

What a mockery of a thread.
Short story: Baby abandoned and left to die. Life saved by a compassionate passerby.
That child was fortunate and I hope will have a good life.

All of the other talk is rubbish.

I do not want to here from the bleeding hearts on here about why this baby might have been dumped and then try to some how make it less of a evil act than it is. Anybody can take a unwanted child to ANY hospital or firehouse with no questions being asked. So I say if and when they find the person that left that poor baby boy on the side of the road they should be taken out in the country and staked down and left until somebody happens buy and can let them up. I really try not to pass judgement but, it gets my deep red american blood boiling when somebody trys to or does harm a poor defensless child. I would have no problem being judge, jury, and executioner in this case,

Here is a statement in an earlier story about the child's race:

"The newborn was described as pale-skinned, but his ethnicity apparently was not immediately determined."

Long ago the son of Jachobed was found in the weeds, as was this child found this week. What might have happened to Moses had "Children's Services" insisted upon finding the family who didn't want him and Princess Nefure, daughter of Pharaoh, had not been privileged to rear him? Why must children, whose birth mothers want something more for the child than they can personally give, be punished by being cast back into potentially undesirable environments when so many loving and caring families want to adopt, care for, and provide for this new life? Why can't we free these mothers, whoever they are, and be thankful for their actions in behalf of newborns for whom they cannot care? Children are adopted because they are "wanted"!!

I think these types of situations make the case for abortion. The mother cleraly never had any intention of raising or keeping this child. If you take this situation and multiply it by the thousands that occur every day, it begins to add up.

I know many have religious opposition to this concept but it comes down to simple math in my mind. Sooner or later, we can't keep doing this as a society.

I am happy this baby was found. It was obviously meant to play out like this.. it's a shame that this innocent soul was left for dead. Thank God she found him! And I am sure that this mother is paying for her choice right now, and if not, she will eventually. Right now the focus should be on finding a good home for this little guy! Bless you Allison for saving his life!
