It's really hard to get to a certain age and not have been affected by life. Unless, of course, you sit at home all day/night with no job and post jabs on Topix.

Keep on believing that you make a lick of sense and thanks for playing.
I love it when you feel compelled to respond to me.

More twisting by che. I can't picture WW ever being a victim or playing that card. When you're happy, successful at what you chose and smart...you don't need it.
But you wouldn't know about that, 24X7X365.

Were you or any of your family members delayed in returning home from work to your family because of the civil unrest created by the protestors, my father was. There are untold stories from good law abiding tax paying citizens who have been and continue still to be ignored regarding the events up to and culminating on May 4. Was it a tragedy, YES, it didn't have to happen. NO ONE knows why the shots were fired or WHO fired the first one."

So you keep studying, Woofie - and my peers and I will remember, memories that sync and do not change over time. This was not a case of peaceful protestors minding their own and being chased and then shot, so stop making it out to be. A lot of those kids there weren't even students, they were just passing by to 'join in the fun'. Did you watch the buildings downtown burn? Did you smell the smoke? Hear the glass shattering, know that looters had just hit your business? So what if the fires were out, the city was incredibly tense waiting to see what was going to happen next. It was a sad, tragic time - let's not glorify it.
The fires downtown occurred over the weekend. They were long extinguished before Monday. School was in session on Monday at noon when the shootings occurred.

And yes...the Guard chased the protestors back and forth over Blanket Hill, while students were walking to and from classes.

Rubber bullets would have sufficed.

You should be careful, by the way, posting links that might suggest your identity.

Sorry that your family had to live through that. But I think maybe there's a lot more blame to go around than you're willing to ascribe.

Quick questions: She clearly was not among that group of people.

Other than through hearsay and rumor, how on earth would she know?

And beyond that, how on earth is it relevant?

You keep talking in circles. Like a frog.

Who am I "willing to deny their first amendment rights"?

And what makes you think that's true?

I said I wouldn't care if Sarah Palin got bopped in the nose. Is that who you're talking about? Cause if it is, it has absolutely nothing to do with her first amendment rights. I think she deserves it.

John McCain is a good man. Somewhat of a dolt, but a good man.

Truncated to get to the point..........

Now this post is totally telling of who you really are dukie......

You have not the slightest problem with the physical assault /abuse of a woman (Sarah Palin) who happens to disagree with your political views.

By your own words from this post "she deserves it"

Words can't describe how sick your thought process is dukie..........

In the future I believe I will call this the dukie progressive socialist war on women......

What do you think?

Nah, they'll pull out a gun and claim "stand your ground." This country was built on the idea of freedom of speech and being able to speak out about the government. That anyone thinks (or a lack thereof) that anyone who gets beaten or shot in the name of doing what the founding fathers thought they should have been able to do freely is truly an un-American idea. Tea baggers truly fit the definition of Americans who hate America and American ideals.

Hey A.! I haven't been keeping up with Topix, but thought I'd say hey and hope you're doing well!

I haven't read most of these posts, but I happened to see something about the Kent State riots. I wasn't there, so I can't speak to it, but it made me think back about when I was in college and lived off campus. Whenever people "rioted" here, it was almost always the people who came from other schools/towns/etc. that were causing the problems. Not to say OSU kids didn't participate, but every time there were arrests made, many of those people were visiting.

Back in those days it wouldn't surprise me if people traveled there to protest, but who knows.

I happened to be flipping through channels the other day and watched "Born on the Fourth of July" for the first time in about 20 years. I find it interesting that Ron Kovic would be classified as a "dirt bag." The man lost his ability to walk and went through hell, but because he is an outspoken advocate for civil rights, speaks out about war, he's classified as a dirt bag and un-American. I guess only some vets deserve to be respected.
