You clearly don't understand what a veteran is. A veteran is a person who served in the military and then joined the Tea Party.
Another literal LOL. Yes, I guess those veterans who are activists for civil rights and the like and voted for Obama are "dirt bags."

wimps like you are no threat until they get that entitled law degree.
Then a communist wimp lawyer like yourself has some power until a warrior removes them from it.
i hope you continue to hide so I can make fun of you.

I don't believe any conservative on this site would wish to deny Mr Kovic his rights granted by the constitution.
He certainly has a long career of exercising them freely under conservative administrations.
Here is an interesting article about the movie, Born on the Fourth of July .
http://www.aim.org/publications/aim_report/19...
All I need to know about Ron Kovic is that he is paralyzed as a result of combat in Vietnam. In my opinion, that entitles him to think, do, say, yell anything he likes about the government. He experienced it - we did not. He has to live his life every day in his condition - we do not. He's earned the right and if he feels that he made the wrong decision by being brainwashed by this notion of fighting for freedom when it never was threatened in the first place - I say he's more than welcome to talk about it and try to discourage others from making the same mistake if that's what he wants to do.

why?

Fantasy is your life, your vision, your illusions, your politics.

If I stop using the word fantasy, then nobody will be reminding you to return to reality.

when do you start paying your fair share, and define fair?

Figures. 99% of the time it's outside agitators that are shipped in to stage the protests. This weekend's in DC would be the exception.
I don't think the teabag groups hate the country, but rather, what the country has become. And I personally am unhappy and embarassed by it.
They sure conduct themselves better than the Wall Street Occupiers.
When liberty and privacy are dealth out dependng on your political affilation, like the IRS and NSA have been and are doing, you're no longer free.
Our economy is in shambles, our allies don't trust us and we are viewed as 'weak' on the world stage. We draw a red line and then move away from it. We allow four murders in Benghazi and nothing is done.
I deal with other countries daily and I hear first hand what their opinions are. They laugh at us.
This could go into a really deep convo that I often have verbally, but I'll try to be succinct. I don't think we ever really had pure freedom. I think pure freedom is and always was an illusion. I DO think we are infringing on personal liberties and this is happening on both sides of the political line. It's a slippery slope. Some legislation is passed and I think, "Well, obviously people aren't able to think/care for themselves, so just like a parent has to direct a child..." But in the same thought I think, "If that person is stupid enough to drink a 40 oz soda every day, develop diabetes, and loses his or her foot - so be it!" It's not a black/white issue and there will always be controversy surrounding these decisions the government makes for us. But I think there are some that have really improved our quality of life and safety.

I think we've been getting laughed at for a long time. A little story - I was at a community festival this past summer and ended up running into a guy I work with. He's from England. We were standing in front of some food trucks...people walking away with their heaping servings of fries and funnel cake and I was embarrassed. I felt at that moment that our society is so cheesy, unoriginal, and daft. I don't know how to explain it, but it was the first time in my 30+ years that I had ever been really embarrassed to be an American. It didn't have much to do with politics though - just the idea of Americans being Kardashian-obsessed, junk food-addicted, Miley Cyrus patronizing idiots...at times. I can't explain it thoroughly at this particular moment. I just wish we would conduct ourselves more elegantly.

Yes, I live in a fantasy world where I have no debt with the exception of my car loan and school loan, live in a nice house, wear nice clothes, enjoy a few nights out on the town to meet with friends... Those college degrees? I just faked those.

You're too much of an idiot to even continue interacting with you. You're an angry old man who has a limited vocabulary. I will say that your spelling has improved a bit.

No darling, that is where you are now and always are wrong. I don't feel entitled to anything. I have two college degrees, I have a great job, and I've worked hard to get everything I have. I believe in supporting yourself but where you and I differ greatly is that I also realize I had a set of circumstances and a background that made it a hell of a lot easier for me to get where I am and attain what I have than many other people do. Yes, people do rise from the ashes and overcome - but they are the exception, not the norm. I don't spit on people who have had more unfortunate circumstances than me. I try to help them, support them, encourage them and not turn my back on them.
You people like to live in - your favorite word - fantasy that all liberals are poor, uneducated, entitled people. Most of us this thread are doing quite well, which is part of the reason that we have the luxury of having so much down time in our lives that this is what we choose to do with it instead of people less fortunate who have to bust their a** everyday just to make ends meet. All your post does is show your prejudice and anger.
want to hear a funny?

I agreed with every word you wrote down till...You people live in.......

Congrats on your accomplishments with your education and employment. Well done, and nobody gift wrapped it up making it easy for you. Accomplishments make statements.

I strongly agree how children are raised will determine the final outcome. No question.

Where we disagree is how to fix it.

You feel your way is best, I disagree. Can I tell you education is key to human development? Strong family ties, supporting neighbors and neighborhood.

Education and plenty of good jobs fixes 60% of our problems. The other 40% are moral.

Do you disagree with anything yet?

Angry old man?

Make me laugh. You have never met me, but judge.
At 50 I am in better shape than any man you have ever been with, and get more winks in a week than you have in 10 years. Need proof.....ask Glitter.

and your debt free life is due to living with whom, or who gave you the house?

In Reality those small things come into play.

If you still owe school loans with 2 degrees at your age, then you missed business classes. A very large disconnect with reality. You are doing something very wrong.

In Reality world, I pay property taxes on a house I almost own. 7 more payments. That payment is not fake either. Neither is tuition or clothing for 5.

I eat out 4 times a week, and waiters scramble for my tables. I tip well.

My vocabulary must work significantly better in person because I am in sales. My income is derived with 100% commissions. I call on business owners or general managers.

My commissions earned payed for this house and 5 kids.

My ignorance and stupidity outperforms your extreme intelligence where it matters.

Paycheck.

I also am college educated. I earned a Masters in Business.

I think you may be misguided in the importance of a Spelling Bee. Maybe you should put all your attention on paying off your student loan prior to your departure from earth.

The last was free. I volunteered at the Fraze in Kettering when I lived in the Dayton area, so I got to see the show for free. Saw a number of shows there for free, actually. Practically lived on top of the place.

Do you have a life or something else to occupy yourself? Seriously, it was a simple opinion. Why spin your brain over it unless you're obsessed with certain posters? You're one sick puppy.

I doubt she's ever had any experiences outside of Medina County. Hell, for all we know, Norma's never left the farm and abuses the sheep. Baa baa.
