Republicans who are forced into paying union dues don't.

In my case I was working there before the union was voted in... So I was forced to quit. |
No you tried to twist what I said to make me look like a hypocrite. Donating money to the NRA by free will and being forced to give union dues to be given to a democratic candidate are two totally different things. And if a poster wishes to bemoan the amount of money given by lobbying groups such as the NRA they best be prepared to get called on their BS. Any dollar amount given by the NRA is a drop in the bucket compared to other lobbying groups. |
|
And if you don't want the benefit of the 2nd amendment don't purchase a gun. Don't try and remove the rights of others to exercise their 2nd amendment rights because you choose not to. I don't agree with unions, but I don't begrudge anyone for joining one. We have a federal union I could belong to, but I choose not to. |

I agree. Absent a law prohibiting it, everything you have the capability of doing is a right. |

That's a moronic statement. The whole purpose of unions was to guarantee worker's rights and safety. Then the unions were taken over by the mobsters and the purpose became to line the pockets of the bosses with union dues, dipping into the pension funds of the workers, bleeding them for dues, over-pricing them out of the market and making sure they voted the way the bosses wanted. I have family members that have always been union affilated, but even they can see that union's time is quickly ending due to greed. It's just a matter of math. How happy do you think the union tradesmen sitting on the bench are while non union guys in RTW states are working and making their rate? |

Hey, I think that people in right to work states must be making at least what their union counterparts are making. Should I do 30 seconds to 1 min of research to see if this is a reasonable assumption, or should I just post it as fact? [hint: check the link below to see if you've made the right choice. If you want to go further, do some further research to see if you're comfortable with the data posted] http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000142412788... |

Don't have to check on anything for me, Bud. My husband is in construction. All non-union. If it's a rate job, his men make union rate. Period. And the inspectors make sure which rate applies to what they are doing. He works a lot on military bases and installations. |
No, you chose to quit. |

I didn't need to twist your words to make you look like a hypocrite. Again, no one is forced to pay union dues. Unions contribute money to gain influence. The NRA contributes money to gain influence. You probably ought to look again at how much the NRA spends. |
|
Now who is twisting words? When did I ever say you don't have a right to own a gun? |

Somebody missed the point. |

I don't know doc, it's almost impossible to fire an employee who's unionized. No matter how bad their behavior. Look at the GM workers drinking and smoking pot on their lunch hours AFTER getting taxpayer bailouts? They're still on the job and didn't lose a cent of pay. And my first (I like to say 'starter') husband's father was the business agent for the local IBIW. Rest his soul, lots of corruption. But a couple of my uncles and cousins are union tradesmen and they are good guys. Not working much the last four years, but still have to pay thier dues. |

I wonder how many employers will drop health coverage altogether, figuring that it's cheaper to pay the fine.
|
Your brain works on a very simple level. |
|
That's not what I meant Tony. The right to form unions (or to decline to join one) is protected under the First amendment. woof |
|
Well then. If that is your husband's experience, it must be a universal truth. |
