<quoted text>AR-15 are considered an "assault rifle" due to the number of rounds the magazine holds and the rapid firing regardless of the caliber. Those .223 rounds shredded the bodies of those six year olds like rag dolls. AR-15 and AK-47's are NOT the weapons of choice by hunters. Stop that BS! Every urban gangster and banger from NY to LA use those types of weapons when at war over turf. They're not using 22's.

Like most liberals, you don't know much about firearms. The AR-15 is not what you people hissingly call "an assault rifle." It's used for hunting as much as anything else.
Is it used for hunting?
I think it would be a great gun to kill Coyote on the run, or several in a pack.

Poll: Support for stricter gun control wanes

Soon after Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., announced an assault weapons ban would not be part of a gun control bill, a new CBS News poll shows support for stricter gun control laws overall has dropped since the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Currently, support for stricter gun control laws stands at 47 percent today, down from a high of 57 percent just after the shootings. Thirty-nine percent want those laws kept as they are, and another 11 percent want them made less strict.

If you have to show identification to board an airplane, cash a check, buy liquor or check out a library book, but not to vote who runs the government ... you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.

If the government wants to ban stable, law-abiding citizens from owning gun magazines with more than ten rounds, but gives 20 F-16 fighter jets to the crazy new leaders in Egypt ... you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.

If, in the largest city, you can buy two 16-ounce sodas, but not a 24-ounce soda because 24-ounces of a sugary drink might make you fat ... you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.

If an 80-year-old woman can be stripped searched by the TSA but a woman in a hijab is only subject to having her neck and head searched ... you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.

If your government believes that the best way to eradicate trillions of dollars of debt is to spend trillions more ...you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots. If a seven year old boy can be thrown out of school for saying his teacher’s "cute," but hosting a sexual exploration or diversity class in grade school is perfectly acceptable ... you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.

If children are forcibly removed from parents who discipline them with spankings while children of addicts are left in filth and drug infested “homes”... you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.

If hard work and success are met with higher taxes and more government intrusion, while not working is rewarded with EBT cards, WIC checks, Medicaid, subsidized housing and free cell phones ... you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots. If the government's plan for getting people back to work is to incentivize NOT working with 99 weeks of unemployment checks and no requirement to prove they applied but can’t find work ... you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots. If being stripped of the ability to defend yourself makes you more "safe" according to the government ... you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.

It is the "wild west" for those living near public housing projects. Didn't you hear that the most dangerous demographic in the world (Young Black Males) just murdered a baby in cold blood in Brunswick? Everyone needs a gun (preferably a shot gun) to stop home invasions from these savages.
I don't care much for your ilk, Oliver, I know you're a bigoted slimeball and a calloused donkey's rear, but I agree with this comment. Black women, who have no husbands needs protection. Blacks who work and raise their families need a gun and rifle to send the murderous thugs to visit Tupac and Biggie Smalls!

I don't know about crazy, but they certainly are hypocrites. It's about individual liberty. They want theirs whether you approve or not, but they don't want others to have any that they don't approve of. Of course, there are some on both sides that share that particular hypocrisy... because the gay marriage issue boils down to the same thing... liberty.

Did you like my idea of a sling shot for you? I think you talk about your food, and someone is going to take it. Where does this come from? Have you got neighbors plotting? Lazy? What is the deal? Do you live in a bad neighborhood or has someone brain washed you, until your thinking is not like the average person I know, or have ever heard of. Explain, if you can.

You are on the loony side Tony. A loose screw in the head. A little on the squirrely side. You might be a danger, with your mind set.

No proof Tony, just a hunch! You know these people that go out in a blaze of glory. Could you crack, shoot someone like the loon in Florida that shot the unarmed boy. Could you be the stick of dynamite, ready to blow? Just asking is all. You are a good one to mess with your mind Tony.

Most of the neighbors I know of are doing a lot of the same things (minor differences in WHAT they stockpile, but they all do it). No, I'm not worried about my neighbors. I'm worried about the thieves from town who think our neighborhood is easy pickings.
Do you live in a bad neighborhood or has someone brain washed you, until your thinking is not like the average person I know, or have ever heard of. Explain, if you can.
Simply that I've lived with the consequences of not being prepared, and given the choice, choose to be prepared in the future. If you'd ever been REALLY hungry for any length of time, this wouldn't need to be explained to you (ever been hungry enough to eat bugs and worms or eat from dumpsters? I have!). You'd do everything in your power to make sure there was plenty of (palatable) food around in the future, and knowing how important it is, take prudent steps to protect it. Living in a neighborhood of like-minded people goes a long way toward that.

And what mindset is that? I've never indicated that I wanted to do anything except defend myself and my family so that we can live our silly little lives relatively unmolested.
No proof Tony, just a hunch!
An illogical one.
You know these people that go out in a blaze of glory. Could you crack, shoot someone like the loon in Florida that shot the unarmed boy. Could you be the stick of dynamite, ready to blow?
Is that how you see all people who have chosen to arm themselves? Sticks of dynamite, just waiting for the match to set them off? If they were, then given there are over 100 million gun owners, wouldn't you expect to see a lot more shootings? Or could it be that most people have a lot more sense than you're giving them credit for?
Just asking is all. You are a good one to mess with your mind Tony.
Look, violence is to only be used in response to and to stop violence, and even in those cases only the minimum force necessary to achieve the cessation of violence. So unless you're contemplating committing violence against me or my family, you have absolutely nothing to be alarmed about from me.

you are the loon, not Tony.

and yes, eliminating you from earth would benefit all society, so yes the trigger is my friend and your enemy.

if you want to erase the target painted on you..........melt into society and not attempt to force your radical ways.

if you don't, then expect a shorter life span.

Someone disagrees with you politically and you believe the appropriate response is to shoot them. If that isn't what you meant, perhaps you should explain.
