Another reason I've come to the conclusion you are 85 years old.
He's 48. History buff can tell you about just about era. If he doesn't know, he'll research it.

I know how the indians lived in this area in the 1600's. Does that make me between 400 and 500 years old?

He gave his opinion on the future of the war effort, actually in the words of Ernest Leiser, after speaking with Creighton Abrams in the wake of Tet.

But hey, don't let fact get in the way of your history, right? Maybe we should have fought another ten years in the jungle and lost another 60,000. Maybe Paco wouldn't be here.

The riots and fires occurred Friday and Saturday after Nixon announced he was sending troops into Cambodia. The Mayor and Police closed the bars early on Friday night and emptied the patrons into the streets.
Classes were in session on Monday with the NG on campus with weapons loaded with live ammo instead of rubber bullets.
It really is a lesson in what NOT to do as a Governor, Mayor, or Police Chief. You should try reading about it.

I have little sympathy for an SDS inspired riot. The proper move should have been to shut it down until the riots ceased.

This is from wiki, so I'm not sure its veracity, but you can google it yourself
According to the document by Pieter Janszoon Schagen our people (ons Volck)—Peter Minuit is not mentioned explicitly there—acquired Manhattan in 1626 from Native American Lenape people in exchange for trade goods worth 60 guilders, often said to be worth 24 US$, though (by comparing the price of bread and other goods) it actually amounts to around $1,000 in modern currency
There is only one incident confirmed where smallpox blankets were used

It's why one should not be on the losing side of the war.
I knew the equivalent of $24. That was one small piece of land from one tribe.

So one confirmed incident, translated into today's mode of government operation, means they practiced it regularly and got caught once.

The indians didn't inspire the 'war.' Some war. They had inferior weapons.

Early guns sucked, they took a minute to reload and were inaccurate beyond 50ft.

The Bow and Arrow was much more useful when from an ambush, by people who ambushed in order to eat.

Later, many tribes acquired guns through trade.

Usually, the problem was inferior numbers. Not tech.

Or maybe we should have listened to LeMay. We would have had everyone home to a victory parade by 1967.

What makes you believe that there was an "SDS sponsored riot" anywhere in Kent?

If by some chance you're interested in learning what really happened in Kent that weekend, here's an excellent resource. The oral histories are highly informative.

In light of the tragedy at Kent State, wherein agents of the state turned on and shot dead unarmed citizens...shouldn't citizens be always armed?

Never know when the state will target you next...eh?

Its been 43 years since James Rhodes was the "law and order" governor running as a candidate for senate in the primary election days after student demonstrations broke out on college campuses nationwide.

I'm not worried about it. I'll let that concern you if you want to worry about it.

Just what that situation needed, more guns. If Allison Krause had a gun walking to class, she never would have had the chance to get it out of her bookbag.

Actually, there is a theory that the shooting was set off by a double agent wannabe with a pistol.
