@ Vdoc, where do you get this ideal that the government wants to "disarm" the American people? I haven't read anything that alludes to a fundamental disarmament of the American people who DO NOT have a violent felony conviction. Limiting the number of round a magazine holds, or increasing the price of ammo is not disarming citizens.
There's enough guns in the country that could probably reach the east coast to the west coast butt to barrel tip! The puplic are still buying guns and ammo and are on waiting list for the manufacturer to ship more hardware to the stores.
What is the paranoia all about? I'm sure those of you who post here daily about 2nd amendment, have plenty of weapons off your choice! Hell, the beef should be for those who can't buy or own a weapon for self protection because of a hiccup on their record decades in the past. Those people have more of a dog in the fight than you people who are crying about shyt you already possess.
In my opinion you're just whining. If the Feds try to take your weapons, then that's a legitimate gripe. Other than that, you're blowing hot air in your anger of the Black liberal in chief.
You'll never get it. It has nothing to do with weapons. It has everything to do with government taking away constitutionally quaranteed rights.

Then you have a slippery slope as to which right they will take next.

Obamacare, the government forcing the individual to purchase a product or service, is unconsitutional. Therefore, SCOTUS could only enforce it by renaming it as a 'tax.'

Liberals want the government to supply everything to them equally, therefore they see no harm in the intrusion of government into their lives. When it becomes government oppression, and it will, they will be the ones squealing the loudest. Or when the money runs out, which ever comes first. I think the latter.

There is a procedure for regaining your rights, decades after a conviction, but I believe it requires a Presidential pardon.

Well I heard an awful lot of chatter and moaning about stolen elections in 2000.

When you build up enough of a base by giving out freebies then you have rigged the elections and your vote becomes useless. Kind of how I felt voting in South Carolina. I knew my state would go Romney so I shouldn't have really even waited in line 2 hours to vote. Just like how many in Illinois probably felt knowing that the decisions of Chicago would override their decisions. Now when the republicans want to change how the EC works the liberals pitch a fit, but not requiring ID to vote and trying to get as many illegals into the country and making them citizens to get more D voters is fair? It's been the game plan all along. Democrats could care less about blacks and they sure as hell don't care about Hispanics. Anyone who believes this is an idiot. They give you lip service until they get your vote then you are conveniently forgotten until the next election cycle.

I personally hope the independent 3rd party becomes a viable voting option in this country. Until then I have to choose who I feel is the lesser of two evils. Last election it was do you want a democrat or a socialist? Obama regular or Obama light. I chose Obama light. Then again I had no freebies promised to me to vote for Obama.

Again you totally disregard anything I say. I'm all for restoring the 2nd amendment rights to those who have paid their dues to society. You did the crime, you did the time. You should get your rights back. When you have states putting limits on magazine size, background checks for buying ammo, outlawing certain weapons, you are circumventing the amendment. It would be like the government saying "yes you can get an abortion but only after we have the following documents, know who the father is and get their opinion, oh and that will be a 6 month waiting period before you can have the abortion (that's the average weight time to get a concealed carry permit in several states right now).

And sorry I couldn't give a crap if the president is black, white, Latino, or a purple and yellow spotted hermaphrodite. I don't agree with his policies. Of course you hear I don't agree and say it's because he is black.

The courts have allowed some restrictions on abortion, but the difference is that it is a right non mentioned in the Constitution.

Now in NY, Cuomo is pushing to get nearly all of the restrictions eliminated, and fund abortions at the expanded Medicaid level with taxpayer cash.

There is no real demand for this, as NY already has the nation's highest abortion rate, and something like 40% of all pregnancies are aborted in NYC.

The real motive behind that and the gun ban in NY are to make Cuomo popular for the D primary left when he runs for President. As a secondary reason, it removes most of the conservative base from New York due to moving.

As usual you are completely missing the point.

Murphy, the proud revolutionary, should ownership of some of his guns be banned in the US, plans to run to the nearest primarily English-speaking country (where those guns are also outlawed) and lie about them.

Really? Generally peaceful? Do you think the family of Pierre LaPorte feels that way? Read some history regarding the FLQ and the October Crisis. Ask English speakers about the "soft terrorism" from the 1970s through the 1990s.

I have yet to see any call for revolution. Instead, I see three leftists on Topix trying to twist self defense into violent overthrow of the US government. You people couldn't tell the truth if your lives depended on it.

That's right, Fred. Lie, and then when called on it, call those people liars. Karl Rove would be proud of that manuever. You can't make that revolution claim with a straight face. How many Hail Marys do you have to do for lying?

Give you a hint. Two word phrase, second word FREEDOM.

Ironically, they then set about trampling the indians rights.

Seems to me, reading through all these posts, it is mostly the liberals & dems predicting civil war and revolution.

Some did (Puritans, Separatists better known as the Pilgrims, William Penn's Quakers, Lord Baltimore's Catholics) but others came here for 17th-century venture capitalism.

Your final sentence reeks of Duke, that isn't all of the history books, Penn required that land be bought from the natives, it is also the lessons of no border control.

How kind of our ancestors to pay the indians in beads for Manhattan Island and then give them, or other's like them, small pox laden blankets as we herded them onto 'reservations' and stole their land.

Our ancestors were the invaders. They had the guns.

It is what it is, Murphy. William Penn of Philadelphia, was one of my ancestors.
