BIG SMILE! Just got in from work. So tell me what Socks is up to today???? That cat is going to jump on your lap, totally unexpected, when you least expect it.
Love you, friend. We're only a bus ticket away and you can tell me all you stories. But, like everybody, you'll end up BFF's with my husband.

Did you read the article I gave you about the Sinclair Method? It makes a hell of a lot of sense.

Why keep beating yourself up about the way you're wired when there might be a better way. If I read this correctly, the article says they have 78% success rate, which sounds far higher than the rest.

AA is also valuable to keep you accountable, but fighting your genes is a losing battle.

Sinclair Method doctors in Akron/Cleveland:

http://www.thesinclairmethod.net/community/vi...

http://transformationstreatment.com/alcohol-t...

I have no personal experience with any of this stuff, it just makes a lot of sense to me when I read through the materials.

Bad analogy I know, but I analogize this to eating carbs ... when I eat them, it makes me hungry for more. If it's hard to go cold turkey on carbs, I can only imagine what it's like for alchohol.

Like I said. Don't fight your wiring.

One more for you:

http://www.the-alcoholism-guide.org/sinclair-...

The Sinclair Method
The Right Naltrexone Dosage

Statistically, this method is far more successful than AA, and yet it is virtually unknown of in the U.S.

The Sinclair Method:
So how does it Work?

Using Naltrexone in this manner will slowly lower the amount of alcohol cravings that a person has for alcohol, and it does so without the patient having to worry about frustrating and painful withdrawal symptoms.

In most other treatment plans and cures for alcoholism there is a wide variety of alcohol withdrawal symptoms that a patient must endure when they make the decision to either stop or reduce the amount of alcohol that they consume.

The reason that this method is seen as an effective treatment for alcoholism is because it completely blocks the body's release of endorphins to the brain [5]>

When a person, who will later develop alcoholism, first begins to drink, endorphins are released in his/her brain. The release of endorphins creates pleasure.

From then on the individual associates alcohol with pleasure and continues to do so. They learn that alcohol equals good feelings.

As they drink more and more their tolerance grows and they need more drink to release the same amount of endorphins to create the pleasurable feelings. Eventually, they become physically and psychologically addicted to alcohol.

He's right. Stop beating yourself up and asking 'what if?' And it is genetic. Bad problem on my Dad's side. Thank God he side stepped it. But my brother and his sons did not.

Read Bob's stuff. I have a cousin who's been sober, like 30 years. A second cousin who joined AA when he was 21.

Here is something I noticed about myself and I have no idea if it will work the same for you......

Whenever I eat a meal, I have absolutely no desire to drink anything containing alcohol during and after the meal for 3 or for hours....

Might cause some weight gain lol if it works as a deterrent......

Best of luck......

Interesting. When I eat pizza, Mexican at a restaurant, or popcorn, I have a slight craving for generic American beer, but usually I will drink pop, ice tea, or water with those. They're just foods that seem to taste the best with beer, but that's just me I guess.

Other than that I have no experience with alcohol craving, so I'm not offering any advice. A six pack of beer lasts me well over a month, and a fifth of Scotch 6-8 months. I no longer drink any wine, and I rarely drink when out.

Wishing you the best, Dave.
