Who will believe getting fatter by the month Dick Morris? He predicted his man Mitt Romney by a landslide.

Prediction: Romney 325, Obama 213

By Dick Morris on November 5, 2012

Published on TheHill.com on November 5, 2012

Yup. That’s right. A landslide for Romney approaching the magnitude of Obama’s against McCain. That’s my prediction.

On Sunday, we changed our clocks. On Tuesday, we’ll change our president.

Romney will win the states McCain carried in 2008, plus: Florida, Indiana, Virginia, North Carolina, Colorado, Iowa, Ohio, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

In the popular vote, Romney will win by more than 5 points.

The Obama campaign made the following key mistakes:

• It bet the farm on negative ads in swing states. It didn’t realize that Mitt’s convention speech and the three debates would give him the chance to live down the charges and demonstrate — through facts and his demeanor — that they were baseless.

• Obama had no Plan B if the negatives didn’t work. He never really laid in a convincing defense of his record, except to recall the mess that he inherited and to try to make people believe things were better. He had no vision for his second term, except more of same. He never moved to the center — the shift that reelected Bill Clinton.

• Obama drew his list of swing states too narrowly. He did not contemplate that he would be forced to defend Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan or Minnesota and squandered his money contesting unwinnable states like North Carolina. When Romney bypassed Obama’s “firewall” states (like the Germans did the French Maginot Line in World War II), the president had not laid in the necessary prophylactic irradiation of negative ads, and three of the states embraced Romney.

• By focusing on the negative, Obama sacrificed first his personal popularity and then his dignity and presidentiality. No longer was he the hope and the change. He became nothing more than a nasty partisan, throwing epithets at his rival. A president does not let himself be quoted as saying that his opponent is a “bullsh–ter” or that voting is the best “revenge.” Even his dress was wrong. Instead of appearing in a dark suit, he dressed in an open-neck white shirt, trying to be everyman but succeeding only in not looking like a president.

• Since he offered nothing more than a negative campaign and a grab-bag of special-interest pleadings for single women, unions, college kids and minorities, Obama failed to inspire the turnout that he needed. Against Santorum and Gingrich, Obama could have made the case that their prospective presidencies were sufficiently dangerous that liberals and Democrats must rush to the polls to stop them. But against the congenial Romney, the warnings rang hollow.

• In the first debate, Obama was terrible. We’ll likely find out what his excuses are after the polls close. Did he have the flu? Was it the altitude? Had he, as Bob Woodward suggested, just received a dose of bad news? Why did he appear distracted?

• Obama should have gotten the facts out quickly about Benghazi rather than let them drip, drip, drip out over six weeks. He could then have handled the crisis and won points for determination and toughness. Instead, to the very end, he looked like he was covering up the fact of a terrorist attack. Because he was.

• After Sandy, Obama visited New Jersey and surveyed the damage with Gov. Chris Christie (R). He should have stayed on the storm, superintending relief efforts, urging FEMA on, absorbing the lessons of Bush’s failure to cope well with Katrina. Instead, he returned to the partisan wars and the strident speeches in swing states.

None of this should take away from Romney’s brilliant campaign. By staying on the economy and not being tempted into side issues like Libya, Mitt kept the focus where it needed to be and never let up. His campaign’s foray into Pennsylvania, Minnesota and Wisconsin was vital to his chances of victory.

Older Viewer - 65 and Older

People sre tired of the lies.

Fox News Killed Romney.

Next viewers are going to start watching other cable news, for the truth, not hyped up stories that do not pan out.

Carl Rove spent nearly $400,000,000.00 For What?
1.5% Return for the Billioniares. Not very good Brain, not good at all.

Hannity - Joke - Liar.

While CNN and MSNBC both saw their ratings grow in 2011, Fox News saw their ratings drop by 3% for the second straight year.

According to the Pew Research Center’s Project For Excellence in Journalism’s The State of the News Media 2012 report, viewership for all cable news was up 1% in daytime and 1% in primetime. CNN saw their ratings rise by 16%. Despite the loss of Keith Olbermann, MSNBC’s prime time audience grew by 3%. The network’s daytime audience was up 20%. The ratings surge at CNN was a temporary blip caused by the tsunami in Japan and the Arab Spring. Without breaking news, CNN sinks to third place.

Fox News continues to lose viewers, but remains highly profitable. How can a network lose viewers, but increase profits? The answer is that Fox News demands the highest licensing fee from carriers in all of cable news. All subscribers pay an additional seventy eight cents a month to have Fox News carried on their system. This was an 11% increase in 2011 and one of the main reasons why Fox News can lose viewers, but set a record for profits.

Even if you never watch Fox News, as long as it is carried by your cable or satellite system, you are still adding to Rupert Murdoch’s fortune. If people really want to stop Fox News, they need to be pushing Congress to pass a la cart legislation that will allow viewers to pick and choose the networks that they want to pay for instead of being forced to subsidize channels that they can’t stand.

There are three warning signs on the road ahead for Fox News. It is likely that Fox News will continue to lose viewers in the future because they have the oldest audience on television. The average age of a Fox News viewer is 65 years old. Younger people aren’t replacing the older viewers that the network is losing on a yearly basis, which means that if things stay as they are, the network is fighting a losing battle against Father Time.

The Internet is also posing a big threat to Fox News’s bottom line. A 2011 study by Credit Suisse, found that 25% of cable/satellite customers plan to cancel their service in the next five years. Subscribers are threatening to cancel because they are realizing that they can get much of the programming that they receive on their televisions right now on the Internet for less. If 25% of subscribers canceled, it would be a big blow to all three cable news networks, but it would hurt Fox News the most.

The biggest dilemma facing Fox News is a problem that they created for themselves. After years of moving to the hard right and making inflammatory rhetoric a staple of their programming, Roger Ailes is trying to move the network back to the middle. The problem is that the core part of the network’s audience still resides on the far right. To put this in political terms, Fox News wants to be Mitt Romney, but their audience craves Rick Santorum.

The far right audience may not react well to the new moderate Fox News. In fact, the door may be opening for a bit of competition for the conservative viewership. The same battle that is playing out for control of the Republican Party among the far right and the party establishment could replicate itself on the cable news landscape.

There are only 1.9 million daily Fox News viewers, but Fox News is available in 102 million homes. This means that 100 million American households are subsidizing the right wing hate of Fox News. If the American people ever wake up and realize that they are paying for a network that many of them disagree with, and demand to be given the ability to financially support only the channels that they watch, the future of Fox News will be in doubt.

Is it time the wealthy pay a little more? What do you think? I guess if you are a millionaire, your answer is no. If you are Warren Buffett, the answer is yes. If you have been brainwashed by Fox News, it is no. If you listen to the Democrats it is yes. Obama says YES WE CAN. Will Bush Tax Cuts COME to An END? Sorry Bush, your capital ran out long ago, your dog doesn't bark anymore. Mitt Romney, he didn't want you to campaign, not a word at the RNC. Maybe that cost Mitt the Election? Or was it REALLY FOX NEWS? I don't watch Fox anymore, it never was FAIR OR BALANCED. Good bye Fox News. Just take your pretty women and go away.

Those of us old enough have already been down the road of "Tax the rich" under Jimmy Carter, which resulted in 18% interest.

Unfortunately the generation hardened by the Great Depression and World War 2 is gone and the depraved hippies of the Woodstock Generation are now running things.

If it were not for FOX we would know nothing about F&F or Benghazi. I think their daytime journalists dig in and do a good job. Yes, it gets boring at night. Still like Greta.

How did they kill Romney? Other than Morris and Rove over predicting his win and maybe hurting the turn out.

Your point 1: Now there's some revisionism for you!

Your point 2: Most of the people I know of that age are church-going right-wingers. They betrayed the hippie movement.

BS, have you lost your mind? That isn't true. If that is all you want to listen to everyday, 24 hours of it. They dig in, and dig and dig, looking for any dirt they can find. Never looking for what might have been another side to the same story. It is all about fanning flames for those goofy enough to listen to that BS. Plus there are other stories to investigate.

A lot of times people that are so sure of themselves, and boasting, bragging, some people get turned off by it. In turn they think, I will show you how wrong you are for spite. At some time all of us get sick of it. Especially if we know they are not truthful.

Donald Trump is a real example of someone that has made his run, people have to be getting fed up with him. All of his money, is it real? Or just hype? Who likes braggarts? There is plenty that could buy him, if only they could sell him, for what he thinks he is worth.

Rush Limbaugh, who can stand him? A blowhard, a jerk. A talking head, that some billionaire pays to tell the world, what they don't have the nerve to say. Fifty million a year for what? A man with his staff looking up trash each day, for a few million fools that are stupid enough to listen. There has to be some good things the President does. He won reelection, not by the skin of his teeth, but by a strong margin. The population of America has spoken, we can disagree for sure. Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Donald Trump, who really cares to listen to that BS day after day, it gets old after a while. What happened to the news when there was no bias? What happened to the newscaster, when you had no idea, who or she supported?
