More sequestration fallout

Due to the ongoing sequestration, the Army and Marines have suspended all government-funded tuition assistance for military personnel. The Air Force, Navy, and Coast Guard are expected to do the same.
Serious consideration is also being given to suspending Tricare medical coverage for everyone except active duty personnel meaning military dependents will no longer be able to obtain medical care on or off base at government expense. This will also apply to retirees including those who pay for Tricare Prime (their monthly or annual payments for Tricare Prime will be suspended since they will no longer be covered). Contrary to myth, Uncle Sam has NEVER formally guaranteed in writing that dependents and retirees will be provided with government-funded medical support.
