The more you pay in taxes, the more they will spend. Be wary Taxpayers. They say one thing but watch the other hand.

mayor mike calls it a people's budget to reflect his demosocialist agenda. It he really did what the people wanted he would drown himself under his Main St. bridge to nowhere. mayor mike...your history in the next election.
I'm curious how a bridge between downtown and Franklinton is a "bridge to nowhere"?

He cannot even begin to control crime in Columbus, who expects him to balance a budget?

YEP! Crime has been increasing at alarming levels. And these are violent crimes like carjacking, robbery and murder.
Coleman and Council took our tax money, but did not fund public safety as we were told for the tax increases.
If you talk to anyone who travels in Columbus they will tell you they are very nervous to be there. In fact most people who are aware of the Columbus crime rates just do not go there.
I spend my money in Dublin, UA or Worthington. At least I do not have to worry about getting shot on the street like in CBUS. CBUS is as bad as Detroit. Got the same kinda thug Mayor and Council.

Exactly what are you all belly aching about. The article is pretty specific about where the money is going - police, fire, and small businesses. These aren't hollow campaign promises... this is where he is committing the money.

Ex-Squid,
The question is, why is he JUST NOW spending the money correctly? Because its an election year, duh! How come he's ignored these issues for almost his full 10 years in office? The police and fire depts have been understaffed his entire term, and are going to be depleted in 2011 due to massive retirements that Mikey has known have been coming for 8 years now! These new hires won't do anything for staffing until 2012 at the earliest because of all the training they have to do.

The "mayor" & city council are the ones that need to be committed. Or better yet incarcerated for crimes against humanity. Send ALL of these clowns back to the circus!

BYW My apologies to the circus for wanting to send them there. I'm sure it would give the circus a bad reputation.

Franklinton is nowhere, but you can see it from there.
