This is so sad...older one's have no business trying to shovel snow..please check on your neighbor's, family, and friend's and make sure they are not trying to do this. The risk is too high.

63 may be too old or not, just as 23 may be too old or not depending on your physical condition! Medical authorities just encouarge people to be cautious, take frequent breaks, and stay warm and hydrated if you must be out shoveling snow.

Heavy snows like this are great opportunities for young people (i.e. teenagers) to help others, especially if they are out of school for the day! When I was in school my friends and I had more fun shoveling out older neighbors' driveways and sidewalks! It became a game (and we often got some nice hot cocoa and cookies for our efforts, though that was just a side benefit)!

A long, long time (no it's not American Pie) when I was a kid, I shoveled most of our neighbors' drives and walks for probably 50 cents to a buck. My Dad would not let me accept anything from our older neighbors and actually told me to get the shovel and go do it without even asking them.

I'm 65 now and how have times changed. I couldn't get our neighbor kid to do our walk for $20.

That's it I am never shoveling again. God put it down and God Can Take It Up ... takes longer but works for me.

He simply thinks he is witty and funny. Unfortunately, he is right about 2% of the time. The other 98%, he is simply a troll. I think he is probably about 19 with a small johnson.

I am not gonna say that 63 is too old for anything. I am gonna say that by that age I will either pay some kid to do it or I will have a snowblower. Not worth taking a chance with the old ticker. Feel sorry for the family of this man that passed away shoveling snow.

That is a sad situation. My husband was shoveling where the trucks had filled the driveway and two neigbors came to help him. We were very thankful for their help. I rewarded them with a Tim Holtons gift card but that is a small paynment for what they did.

Not to sound like "Archie Bunker" but I must say, those WERE the good old days. I remember us kids doing the same thing. And if someone's car was stuck. Everybody in the neighborhood was out there helping them out. You don't see that anymore.

Anyone who uses a name like Big Johnson has issues. By the way I am 53 in good condition and have done my share of butt kickings. As far as kicking butt a 63 would concer me more than a kid(Mentally)called Big Johnson.

I know a few veterans that are still tough as nails. I'm 27 and in decent shape AND martial arts trained and i wouldn't want to go toe-to-toe with some of those guys. You want to see tough, go down to your local vfw post.
