I suck at life? You're the one living in PA. I couldn't think of anything suckier than being stuck there. Go bathe with a pluged in toaster oven.

Do me a favor and teach your 8 year old to start fires in Kroger and do the community a favor by removing one of the worst grocery chains in Central Ohio.... at most your kid will get 6 months probation and a story on WBNS... that we can all comment on
Do me and all of us a favor and shut yer trap. If you have an 8 year old, I shudder to think how he behaves.

I fail to see how burning down Kroger will do that community a favor. I fail to see how it is the "worst grocery" chain in central Ohio. If you don't like it, don't shop there. If you don't want to work there, don't. There are a number of large chains in the area for you to shop at--Walmart, Meijer, Giant Eagle to name the largest.

Kroger is actually pretty innovative. Large employer throughout Ohio. Reasonably priced groceries. Continuous improvements in their stores. Large selections. Clean stores.

Lets see how it could be the worst grocery chain in Central Ohio. Before I decided it was anything less than a third world superstore I have bought hamburger meat (Gahanna Kroger)that was Green on the bottom which one can not see without ripping it open there in the store. I've bought bread products that once again by just eyeing didn't find the MOLD (Groveport Kroger) until I got it home and opened it.
The list goes on and it's not just one Kroger its numerous ones across the metro.

As for reasonable prices? Example: Keebler cookies with the m&ms on the were over $5 at Kroger and at Giant Eagle they were $2.50 regular price. This is a staple I always buy and unfortunately was stuck in an area with no Giant Eagle so I had to into Kroghetto.$17 for detergnt at Kroger when the same detergent is $10 at Giant Eagle? Ridiculous....
If every Kroger were boarded up tomorrow just as Big Bear was... I could care less.

Yeah, the Gahanna Kroger is nasty. And expensive compared to other places.

Use to work at the warehouse myself. I put 3 years in. Worked different types of jobs all over the warehouse. A couple good things about this place is it's unionized, however doesn't mean much. When you get in trouble for being 1-3% down on standards for the week, they don't say a word for you. The union stewards will literally sit there in the offices with the supervisors and chat it up, being the good friends most of them are with you. Last time I checked, a union ''steward'' was suppose to be there for you, good or bad. Another thing, the pay, is a pretty decent hourly wage, however as you make your way up to 16 dollars an hour as you've been there 5 years or so, your sitting on your rear end. Which is a positive, but the guys still making only 11.50 an hour or so, are the ones actually doing the real ''labor''. The insurance is great, but you WILL need it. It does not matter if you're 21 and healthy, or 40 and a little broken down.....You are expected to lift 230 cases of product on average an hour. Now they do not give you a specific number and you go get at it. THEIR computers come up with a percentage for your work. What I mean is, you need to get to what they call baseline. Which is 0. Now if you average 1-4% under baseline for any particular week, you get wrote up promptly. 3-4 write ups, and your outta there. Now, the 5,000 bonus they advertise, is the greatest farce of em all. They went into so called union negoitiations, and told us if we meet this, this, and this, we will see extraordianary rewards. In 3 years time, I saw at best, 40 dollars worth of bonuses in a 3 period timeframe. Finally, the 3 years I served at the DC, I received 2 weekly write ups, what I mentioned earlier. I looked over my performance for the 2 weeks, while I was 3-4% under what they wanted me to be, I still managed to select 195 cases of product an hour. I forgot to mention they nickel and dimed me 2 weeks before christmas. So yeah, have fun.

The people on here complaining about Kroger are jusy sorry. If they don't hire you, you just do not meet their demands. If you work there and hate it, you are lazy and can't do the job .

Someone needs to tell the "Thousands about to loose Unemployment Benefits" about this...... Oh wait...work....They are to good for that now....
I'm sick to death of "unemployed" people in Ohio! They don't GO OUT and physically try to get a job. You know, "Hitting the Pavement" till you get something? EVERYONE of them sit on their asses, putting in, quote, "resumes". Ha! What a f'ing joke! They NEVER EVEN HAD a resume before now! Talking about what they did at their past job, like that should matter if they can't freaking find work! They REFUSE to work for less than they had before, and not because they can't afford to, they just won't lower themselves in that way! Excuse me? Everyone of them are making over $1000 a month on unemployment! And it just keeps getting aproved over and over and over again, and with no REAL PROOF of anything, just the unemplyed person saying they haven't been "successful" in finding work yet. L O damn L. It's been years for a couple of people I know! It's more than they are going to get for working a whole week at Kroger, WITHOUT the broken back and aching limbs! And you can't even mention how you feel about people using the system in this way. They act like they aren't one of them doing it, so they act all "goody goody" and "Not me"ish! They usually come back with they have worked their whole lives, at 36, and they are entitled to this time to recoupe and rest up before going back into the work force! Makes me sick to know them!

kroger just plain sucks they have a high turn over rate and they will work your ass off believe me. Those of you know this from working at sweat shops like limited brands and gap and now krogers. Nope sorry not for me they would hire a 55 year old dude like me anyway might be afraid i might keel over. Todays warehouse jobs are for the young folks. seniors stay home unless you have forklift experience stay home. There stores are going downhill bad especially the krogers in new albany that store with all the snobs has sucked for a long time and they are the most expensive store in columbus, ohio

I read the comment from Say it isn't So. You make me sick. My husband lost his job after 25 years in the same place. Does that make him lazy. All he wants to do is find a job to help support his family and take a little stress off of me. Regrettably he can no do warehouse work because of 5 ruptured discs in his back and yes he got them from working. Please keep your mean and hateful comments to yourself. He is looking every day and wishes he could find something.

Gasp!! They "make you wear a headset"? Like a bluetooth or an ipod or many other audio equipment gadgets used for recreation?? They make you pick and move a certain amount per hour - that's called getting their money's worth. Where do you work now, and how much do you produce for your employer in an hour?

Working on weekends, holidays, on call (currently 60 hrs/week), I do them all and I'm pleased as I can be that my home is paid off, I owe no car loans, I take two vacations a year and I have at least enough in investments to live without working for two years or more if necessary. But I have all that because I have always stepped up and volunteered to work and to do things that were "not part of my job". Smiling all the time!

If you "could care less," then you actually care, just a little. It is "I could not care less." Make yourself clear, dear Dole.
