They were nicer than that but not much.

"Chrysler in an October 25 blog post had already rejected a statement made that day to a crowd in Ohio by Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, that Chrysler was thinking of moving all Jeep production from Ohio to China.

Marchionne told employees by email on Tuesday, "I feel obliged to unambiguously restate our position: Jeep production will not be moved from the United States to China."

Romney, speaking last week to a crowd in Defiance, Ohio, said that he had read a news article that said Chrysler's Jeep brand is considering moving "all production to China."

Later, the Romney campaign aired an advertisement that did not repeat the move of production from Ohio but said that Chrysler is considering making Jeeps in China, which Chrysler has said.

U.S. President Barack Obama's campaign, in its own ad, said Romney was making a "false claim" and noted that Chrysler had challenged Romney's statement." REUTERS

""We will invest more than $1.7 billion to develop and produce the next-generation Jeep SUV, the successor of the Jeep Liberty -- including $500 million directly to tool and expand our Toledo Assembly Complex and will be adding about 1,100 jobs on a second shift by 2013," his email to employees said.

Marchionne said that Chrysler, including Jeep, has added 11,200 jobs in the United States since 2009.

"Jeep assembly lines will remain in operation in the United States and will constitute the backbone of the brand," said Marchionne in the email. "It is inaccurate to suggest anything different." - Reuters

"The tax report Senate Republicans donít want you to see

Throughout the late-1940s and 1950s, the top marginal tax rate was typically above 90%; today it is 35%. Additionally, the top capital gains tax rate was 25% in the 1950s and 1960s, 35% in the 1970s; today it is 15%.

The real GDP growth rate averaged 4.2% and real per capita GDP increased annually by 2.4% in the 1950s. In the 2000s, the average real GDP growth rate was 1.7% and real per capita GDP increased annually by less than 1%.

There is not conclusive evidence, however, to substantiate a clear relationship between the 65-year steady reduction in the top tax rates and economic growth. Analysis of such data suggests the reduction in the top tax rates have had little association with saving, investment, or productivity growth.

However, the top tax rate reductions appear to be associated with the increasing concentration of income at the top of the income distribution. The share of income accruing to the top 0.1% of U.S. families increased from 4.2% in 1945 to 12.3% by 2007 before falling to 9.2% due to the 2007-2009 recession. " - eK

This is not new so why does it upset Republiscum so much? Reducing taxes for rich people and megacorporations is the entire economy policy platform of Republiscum.

Oh, that's why.

To counter the severe slump in European sales, Marchionne is considering building Chrysler models in Italy, including Jeeps, for export to North America. The Italian government is evaluating tax rebates on export goods to help Fiat. Marchionne may announce details of his plan as soon as Oct. 30, the people said.

Nothing in Romney's ad is untrue.

Chrysler was sold to an Italian firm. Their CEO announced that they do not intend to close any plants in the U.S. at this time, BUT all future expanions and manufacturing will be done in China.

Twelve months could see all Chrysler plants in the U.S. closed, or not. It is no longer and American owned company.

DETROIT, Nov 1 (Reuters)- A Chrysler executive told Donald Trump in a Tweet on Thursday that the real estate executive and television personality was "full of shit" for repeating a notion that Chrysler is shipping U.S. Jeep production to China, which the automaker refutes.

Ralph Gilles, the head of product design for Chrysler, became the second top Chrysler executive in three days to strongly deny the claim, which was first made by Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney last week to a crowd in Ohio.

Trump, from his Twitter account, said, "Obama is a terrible negotiator. He bails out Chrysler and now Chrysler wants to send all Jeep manufacturing to China--and will!"

To which Gilles, from his Twitter account, responded to Trump: "You are full of shit!"

In a second Tweet, Gilles added: "I apologize for my language, but lies are just that, lies."

On Tuesday, Chrysler Group LLC Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne, in an e-mail to employees, also flatly denied Romney's claim.

"I feel obliged to unambiguously restate our position: Jeep production will not be moved from the United States to China," Marchionne wrote.

Romney, speaking a week ago to a crowd in Defiance, Ohio, said that he had read a news article that said Chrysler's Jeep brand is considering moving "all production to China."

Jeep, Chrysler's global brand, has three U.S. assembly plants, including one in Toledo, Ohio. The others are in Illinois and in Detroit.

Ohio is seen by pollsters as a key "swing" state in next Tuesday's presidential election. It has been the site of intense competition between the campaigns of Romney and President Barack Obama.

After Romney spoke in Defiance, his campaign aired an advertisement that did not repeat the move of production from Ohio but said that Chrysler is considering making Jeeps in China, which Chrysler has said it intends to do.

Marchionne said that any Jeep production in China would be for the Chinese market, and that the company would not take any production away from Chrysler's U.S. plants. Rather, he said, Chrysler is adding jobs and investment at its Ohio plant.

Chrysler has been managed by Fiat SpA since it emerged from its 2009 bankruptcy, when the Italian company took 20 percent ownership. Fiat has since increased its ownership to 58.5 percent.

Marchionne is chief executive of both Chrysler and Fiat.

I love how Chrysler said, "but lies are just that, lies".

And also, "You are full of shit!". Ralph Gilles' choice of words, not mine.

.....>huge grin<.....

I guess it also goes for Romney since he also said Jeep was moving overseas.

Oh, that's why.
What I have never liked about the left is that they think they can pay for everything by taxing the rich.

Ever since Mondale got his azz kicked for saying he'd raise the taxes on everyone, the left won't admit fiscal reality and admit that in addition to dramatic cuts in entitlement spending, we have to tax all brackets, including the 47%.

At least Romney has said deductions are getting rolled back. That's a backdoor tax increase.

The left uses tax the rich simply for class warfare by claiming "inequality" as a bad thing. Inequality fuels the dynamism in this country that does not exist in the more equal and lethargic Europe.

How many bills does a political party have to submit that directly attacks me as a woman before they loose my vote? How many lies does a person (Romney) have to tell before he is called a liar? How many threats of cutting education does a person (Romney) have to make before I become concerned for my future children? I will also someday grow old, Romney's plans for Medicare and other things is a threat to my financial security when that time comes.

The Republicans lost my vote long before Romney even told the binders full of women and Jeep lies.

So after reading several posts here a bunch of you knuckleheads conclude that Romney lied because he read an article that said all production would be in China. Then the quotes from Chrysler say that production in China would be for China consumption only not exporting and some production would also be in Italy. AHH isn't that still outsourcing production to foreign countries which is the point not the misquote of the reference to all production instead of some production. Let us not forget that Fiat wasn't selling cars here until the Obama guided bankruptcy allowed Fiat to compete here against our car companies which they weren't allowed to before which decreases car sales for all domestic brands. Obama also states that Romney would have let GM go bankrupt but that's exactly what happened under Obama the difference is the Judicial branch of the government was left out of the procedings and the Obama administration overstepped its authority and assumed that role. There are three coequal branches of government and this Pres. is consolidating power by going around Congress and the Judicial branches or doesn't that interest any of you.

God are you full of yourself...Is everybody here hung up on semantics and petty little things. ACTION speaks louder then words Romney as governor brought his state to number one in the nation in education (you should go attend you could use a good education). So knowing that he's not a threat to improving education his record says so. Medicare is dead if Obamacare is allowed to stand the two can't co-equally exist. Your children already have a $50,000 bill from this presidents deficient. Romney hired more women to his administration in positions of power then most other states. The binders reference was to the amount of candidates he received for the positions. I would think as a women you would appreciate the fact that he did hire quite a few women instead of hanging on a word you didn't like. ACTION. RESULTS. Romney didn't watch 4 Americans die on a live feed in the situation room and do nothing but your hero Ovomit did.
