Again, pot meet kettle. I can't understand the ridiculousness of a lot of people. You perhaps need to slow the spin in your brain a bit and really think things through? Topix will be here tomorrow if you do decide to get back with us later with a less-than-automatic reply, your presence here isn't required 24X7.

Just a hint--you know, if you want to make Topix any better in the ideas department, you can have a hand in that. Or are you too dense to figure it out or too bored with life?

You should ask yourself why my stereotyping of Catholics offends you but you buy right into the stereotyping of Muslims.
I wasn't stereotyping Muslims; I was dissecting some of the belief system. I can't make that shit up--after all, it is documented thoroughly in a publicly available document called the Koran and it is in the media day after day, in sources that range from conservative to liberal.

Maybe Nancy Pelosi should think about becoming a priest.
She's free to leave and become an Anglican priest. And nobody...not a constituent, not a Catholic...would have an issue with that.
Keep avoiding the truth, little girl.

For someone with a Literature degree you have a laborious writing style that is absolutely painful to read.
You're acting crazier than a sprayed roach.
And I'm guessing you're about to get the stomping you deserve.

You are almost on to something in the last sentence though. What is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. See, sometimes folks just can't understand the ridiculousness of their thought process until it is applied to something they find personally important. You should ask yourself why my stereotyping of Catholics offends you but you buy right into the stereotyping of Muslims.
Gee, it might have something to do with 3000 dead people on a beautiful sunny Tuesday morning for starters...and the absolute joy it brought Muslims overseas as well as the absolute SILENCE it produced among Muslims in America.

She's been getting stomped for two days...with no support from her fellow losers, she gets particularly shrill.

Sharia law does not recognize secular law. In the instance of a Spanish couple, it likely wouldn't be a problem.
Take into consideration that Sharia law acknowledges that a female is eligible for marriage at the onset of menstruation... take into consideration Sharia law is heavy handed at how it dismisses women and condones violence by males. Look at how acknowledgement of Sharia law has worked in the UK and other places in Europe. Do avail yourself of others' thinking, with some understanding that mere acceptance that you have can lead to future approval of a system that is not desired...

Many are considering this issue because of the very real possibilities it presents, due in part of the "acceptance" of Brits who are now seeing more ugly issues crop up. The very basis of Sharia law is marriage and family, and that system is very much different than ours. There is a very large Muslim immigrant population, just look at the population mix in Ann Arbor or Dearborn, MI and just north of here. There's a large Muslim population in Toledo as well. Do you mean to imply immigrants have never once influenced our laws, our culture, or our fundamental family units?
Well, you have changed the scenario just a wee bit now, haven't you? In the scenario that you have created, comity wouldn't be an issue and neither would Sharia. Ohio law would apply.

British law hasn't "accepted" Sharia. There are people in Britain who have decided to opt out of the British justice system and voluntarily submit their disputes to Sharia courts for arbitration. Who are you to stop them from doing so? No one is forcing anyone to submit to Sharia.

You are right. It started that day. When a bunch of ignorant, angry, people who couldn't separate the few from the many decided that ALL Muslims were evil because of the actions of 19 Muslims. Explain to me, Nate, how that is more rational than someone suggesting that ALL Catholic Priests are pedophile rapists because of the actions of many more than 19 priests?

Neither conclusion is warranted. Yet you are eager to make the first, and cry like a stuck pig about bigotry and hate if anyone as much as suggests the latter.

Since when is the Church a democracy? The faithful know the rules and are free to leave if they disagree.
You do know the theological rationale behind the ban on female clergy, don't you?

That's hyperbolic.

What we are saying is that terrorism is indicative that Islam is a system that legitimizes aggression against the "kuffir".

Not all Muslims may be that violent, but a broad spectrum of Muslims have Anti-Western views and give casual acceptance of violence. Particularly regarding Israel.

Saying that all the priests are pedophiles is also inaccurate, but it would be accurate to say that the RCC hierarchy had a problem with covering up sexual abusers.

Your stuck with leftist blinders that inhibit you from blaming a Third World "other" for causing problems. The idea that White Christian Men cause everything bad is particularly rampant with lefists here and elsewhere.

Right. That was exactly my point when I said that no woman in control of her faculties would be a Catholic. It took you long enough to process that, 3.1.
