I'm going to ask you to explain to me what how you think Sharia courts in the UK work.

Then we're going to have a talk about how they really work, to see how close to the mark your concerns are.

As a starting point, can you talk about what cases these courts might try, how those cases might be given to those courts, how those courts might fit into a larger context of religious courts in the US and how they might fit into the wide landscape of private adjudication in the US.

The UK can take care of their own problems.
There is no other law that can trump the laws of the constitution in the USA!
We are NOT barbaric people and don't follow a doctrine which promotes killing etc like the Koran.Sharia law is abusive to women and that's not allowed here.
Hope you're enjoying married life!

Ok. Tell me how these courts work in the US. The same questions should work pretty well.

You'll really feel better after doing a bit of research.

Tell me what you know about the structures and processes now, and we;ll start looking into it a bit more together.

Seriously. Tell me how you think this relates to actual Sharia courts in the US. Talk to me about what cases the currently working courts in the US deal with, how those cases are presented to the courts and what limits they work within.

I promise you that if you're able to give me answers to these prompts, you're going to feel a lot better about things.

What's even worse is we have Che and Trans attempting to hold conversation here. How can you hold an intelligent conversation with a couple of bulldogs?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-an...

"There are more worrying cases involving domestic violence and children. In Leeds, I met Sonia, an attractive woman in her thirties in a mini-dress and ankle boots. She was granted a civil divorce due to her husbandís extreme violence towards her and their children. He was only allowed indirect access to the children by the courts. But when she went to Leyton for a Sharia divorce, she was told she would have to give up her children to him."

Some people don't know how to research for the truth......

Sharia has no place in this country, however, some of the foundation rules have been implemented years ago in this country. Research..........

Sharia is abusive to women...why can't people understand this simple fact. I have given a few sites for info but evidently they don't care to read them...instead they post garbage and demean everyone.
This is one of millions of stories and this is a mild case.....
Thanks for posting!

Yes, Sharia is dangerous and abusive to women. The "politically correct" police want us to bend over backwards to accommodate everyone, afraid to say "bs" to that idea. Yes, I realized it was a mild case, but first one I remembered. I will never back down from the idea that Sharia is dangerous and it doesn't belong here.

Now watch Tran or Che come up, like a jack in the box, to piss and moan here and infer how stupid we are for objecting to Sharia in the US. Yet, neither will completely state why Sharia law is safe to recognize in the US.

"Our findings suggest that Shariah law has entered into state court decisions, in conflict
with the Constitution and state public policy. Some commentators have said there are no
more than one or two cases of Shariah law in U.S. state court cases; yet we found 50 significant
cases just from the small sample of appellate published cases. Others state with certainty that
state court judges will always reject any foreign law, including Shariah law, when it conflicts
with the Constitution or state public policy; yet we found 15 Trial Court cases, and 12 Appellate Court cases, where Shariah was found to be applicable in the case at bar. The facts are the
facts: some judges are making decisions deferring to Shariah law even when those decisions
conflict with Constitutional protections. This is a serious issue and should be a subject of public debate and engagement by policymakers."

You haven't been a party to an intelligent conversation in your life.

That woman going to a "sharia" court is because of the superstition she believes in. The same as Georgie paying off the Pope for an annulment. There is no law requiring her to do that in Great Britain or the US.

Stop letting your irrational fear and ignorance overload your ability to think.

My God. Show me one place in the United States that has attempted to enact Sharia Law. One. There is none. Now, if muslims want to follow those rules, so long as they aren't violating the laws of whatever jurisdiction they live in, so be it. They have the same right to practice their religion as the Catholics do.

Your effort to try to force other posters to defend Sharia Law is a red herring. The problem is, I really believe you believe that Sharia Law is coming to take over the country. How sad and stupid that is.

Absolute, utter bullshit. I read the first three cases this study deemed "highly relevant." The first was a trial judge who was clearly wrong and the error was corrected by the Appellate court. The second was an issue of comity, in other words, should the American court honor a prior judicial finding from another country on the same issue that involved a marriage entered into in another country and divorce in that same country. The third was the interpretation of a contract entered into under the laws of another country.

I stopped reading after that. They are clearly trying to arouse idiots like you. If you would like to read some of the other essays published by this organization, perhaps you can start with the one advocating that George W. Bush be named President for Life.
