And why aren't there enough U.S. refineries?
And why has Obama again delayed the U.S.-Keystone XL decision until May/June?

Because Obama's EPA is dedicated to the cult of AGW and its convenient societal control devices.

Hold on to your wallets. Gas prices make the biggest February jump in decades.

Adam May explains why.

At the rate we’re going experts say $4 a gallon is just around the corner.

2013 is on track to be one of the most expensive years to fill ‘er up. Gas prices in Maryland–up 16 cents in just one month–nationally up 17 cents. AAA says it’s just the beginning.

“The way prices have been increasing over the past few weeks we wouldn’t be surprised to see prices approach near $4 a gallon here in Maryland,” said Christine Delise, AAA.

Drivers aren’t happy.

“I remember when I went to college it was 95 cents a gallon,” a man said.

Although U.S. oil production is the highest in years, experts say there’s not enough working refineries and growing demand for oil in China are huge factors.

“The price spike we’re seeing at the pump is a result of crude prices that are trading around the 95-to-$97 barrel range. That’s about 10% a barrel more than mid-December,” Delise said.

Many drivers say it’s a wake up call.

“The more expensive gas is the more interested people are in finding a way to not use as much,” a man said.

The average American household is on track to spend almost $3,000 on gasoline this year–that’s almost 4% of their income.

An example of growing demand: The number of cars in China has tripled in just the last four years.

Obama's EPA must have a time machine and his power over that EPA began when he was 15.

Right?

You're obviously uninformed on the epic regulation roll-out under Obama's EPA, and the e-mail scandal concerning his recently-resigned EPA director.

Carry on in ignorance.

Wake up:

Consumers would have to buy a minimum of four gallons of gasoline from certain gas pumps under an EPA rule aimed at keeping people from misfueling motorcycles and small engines.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is now requiring the minimum four-gallon purchase at service station pumps selling a new 15% blend of the fuel additive ethanol from the same hose and nozzle as the current 10% blend known as E10.

The agency says it wants to keep consumers from misfueling motorcycles and outdoor power equipment - such as lawn mowers and snow throwers - with the 15% blend that's only approved for newer cars and trucks.

Without the rule, a motorcyclist who followed an E15 customer at the pump, but who only purchased two gallons of E10, could receive enough residual E15 from the hose and nozzle to violate an engine warranty and possibly cause engine problems.

No new refineries have been built in the U.S. since 1976 because of EPA mandates. It sounds like a continuation previous administration's policies.

No matter how they slice it, the next person who pulls up may well be fueling a motorcycle or getting lawn mower gas. They don't explain fully how this person is going to be protected.

It's jumped at least .15 cents here in Delaware, the state, in the last month. I realize your town of Delaware is bigger than our state.
No, not 15% Ethanol! It is too hard on the engines!
And well, sometimes people don't have enough to purchase 4 gallons. A boy in Wawa in front of me the other day told the clerk "Let me have $10. on pump 7."

If Romney had been elected, with his energy independence adgenda, we would have needed 5 new refineries built immediately. But he would have rolled back some of the crazy EPA mandates.

It's almost as if they expect the retailer to keep watch on the pumps. As if that would be possible, unless those ones were mandated as pre-pay. But still, the 18 year old kid behind the counter with a line of beer and smokes customers isn't going to care.

10 posts, and not single one says anything about why gas prices are going up in February.

I pay .40 a gallon for fuel now.

fill station is in my tool shed.

wendy's is happy to drain fryers oil into my tank; and at home it is refined into biodiesel. They call me when they want a drain. It used to cost them money, now free for them. A hose out door into tank in bed of truck, then at home pump into tank for making biodiesel. 24 hours later there is 40 gallons waiting to be utilized.

40 gallons a day.

so far 4 batches have been made; and ZERO problems.

PS: boats require fuel with zero ethanol.
