^^What he said.^^

Spontaneous generation of life is not observable, testable, or repeatable; therefore, it is not science.
It's as much a far-fetched theory as atheists believe creation to be.

How many species are we aware of?

A tenth of them?

A hundredth perhaps?

What do we know about the bonds that link them?

The Earth is a miracle.

Life remains a mystery.

Families of animals form, united by customs and rituals that are handed down through the generations.

Some adapt to the nature of their pasture and their pasture adapts to them.

And both gain.

The animal sates its hunger and the tree can blossom again.

In the great adventure of life on Earth, every species has a role to play, every species has its place.

None is futile or harmful.

They all balance out.

And then prove how variable DNA appeared en masse out of nowhere.
That's the really good part.

Let me get this straight:

You cannot explain where the sea came from, but you take -- on faith -- that micro-organisms spontaneously generated from that sea.

And you mock me?

If you cannot create life, you have no evolution.
No scientist can offer proof otherwise.

And yet you believe Darwin's "warm little pond" which appeared out of nowhere had the intelligence to plan and create such a masterful design?

I'd say your faith exceeds mine...LOL.

Definition: In the context of science, a theory is a well-established explanation for scientific data. Theories typically cannot be proven, but they can become established if they are tested by several different scientific investigators. A theory can be disproven by a single contrary result.

Also Known As: scientific theory, theories

Examples:
Examples of theories include the Big Bang Theory, the Theory of Evolution, and the Kinetic Theory of Gases

A theory is an educated guess, based on the science available to us. Again science is not perfect and does not have all the answers, and changes when new information is available .Evolution is not a theory ,it is a fact.

My friend, science has come along way since Darwinism, a 19th century philosopher. The fact we are communicating on the internet, is an evolution of communication , invented by mankind's science and technology.

I find it odd, how humanity socially has always wanted to escape our planet Earth.People want to go to a heaven, travel to other planets to find life, perhaps there is alien life out there.. Curious as to, who or what created the Universe. But really, honestly, do we deserve that kind of knowledge. Why is it so hard for some to understand, that this is all there is. Our planet is our heaven and hell, we may never have a social Utopia, but what I do know is, Earth and all life on it is a Utopia of life. Know where else in the known universe is there life as we know it. Every one you ever knew or heard of is from here. This is our only home. I think yous are taking a big gamble, on the false hope of there being an after life.I think the ideology of religion is ancient mythology , and irresponsible as to our responsibility to better manage our resources and take care of the planet, and to be more understanding towards one another. The greatest mystery of Easter Island, is not how the statues got to the beachfront, but why an apparent civilized society, did nothing to better manage and preserve their resources for future generations.Take care everyone, and thanks for all the fish

Friend, you are being rather simplistic.

From the American Association for the Advancement of Science:

A scientific theory is a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world, based on a body of facts that have been repeatedly confirmed through observation and experiment. Such fact-supported theories are not "guesses" but reliable accounts of the real world. The theory of biological evolution is more than "just a theory." It is as factual an explanation of the universe as the atomic theory of matter or the germ theory of disease. Our understanding of gravity is still a work in progress. But the phenomenon of gravity, like evolution, is an accepted fact.

The United States National Academy of Sciences defines scientific theories as follows:

The formal scientific definition of theory is quite different from the everyday meaning of the word. It refers to a comprehensive explanation of some aspect of nature that is supported by a vast body of evidence. Many scientific theories are so well established that no new evidence is likely to alter them substantially. For example, no new evidence will demonstrate that the Earth does not orbit around the sun (heliocentric theory), or that living things are not made of cells (cell theory), that matter is not composed of atoms, or that the surface of the Earth is not divided into solid plates that have moved over geological timescales (the theory of plate tectonics)...One of the most useful properties of scientific theories is that they can be used to make predictions about natural events or phenomena that have not yet been observed.

I have yet to see the justification, of corporate CEOs to earn the 100s of millions that they do.
So then first you are self employed, then you are retired......

Life on this planet , or life in the universe. I think its quite clear that modern science, understands the origin and evolution of life on this planet. And again, no human living or dead, knows how life in the Universe began. it has been suggested now there could be more than 1 universe.A couple yrs back, they managed to take pics of a live neuron in a human brain. The pics look very similar to the pics we have seen of far off galaxies taken by Hubble.. Either way, its not something we are deserving of knowing. Not until we learn how to manage our environments here on Earth.

or perhaps we don't really know as much as we think and its never been limited to what "we know". Perhaps we shouldn't be up our own ass with a message that's limited to what we've only grasped thus far, which isn't everything and never will be... none the less I get the gist of the rest of your comment. I just don't get how secularism advances it better than any other belief, or how such broad assumptions can applied to those who disagree with the secularist view, people who believe in conservation of the earth, people who believe in "mythology", or people who want to keep extracting fossil fuels. It doesn't always go hand in hand like you imply.. maybe somebody implied it to you the same way and you believe it.
