In keeping with the times, they really should build a new water tower in the shape of an oxycontin. As a kid, I lived in the big brick house back the lane past Bolender Pontius Rd. No drugs, no theft, little crime in that area.
Or they could design the new water tower to resemble a meth house, since we have had a couple blow up!

I don't think so, but I know Carl's was part of Fazios ...

The stores here became Kash n Karry, which was also a warehouse market.

No, but I still go to Lindsey's for the pumpkin donuts and coconut cake. Everything is pretty good and the owner is nice.
The Tuscan Table has very good Italian food if you don't want to drive to Grove City, Lancaster or Chillicothe.
Rich's New York Deli is also very good. Jeni's Ice Cream!
I don't get the fascination with Jeni's Ice Cream.
I'll take Whit's Custard over Jeni's any day of the week.

There is no good Italian food in Chillicothe. I usually go to Spageddies in Hilliard.

The Florentine in Columbus used to be good, haven't been there in many years. Used to stop when I worked at MCMC.

Olive Garden is "ok" but not the most authentic I've found. Most of their dishes take creative license, don't you think?

Outside of Cleveland, there is no good Italian food in Ohio, and the Italian food in Cleveland is only passable. You want good Italian food, come to Jersey.
Do you know Snookie? That would be more impressive than your critique of Italian food. I'll settle for a Real Housewife sighting.

Water tower in the shape of an expanded two liter soda bottle would fit the bill better.

I wouldn't classify Carl's as a warehouse market, I worked there in the summer of '88. Pulling info from the back of my brain, I do remember that the long time cashiers at Fazio's were offered jobs at Carl's. Carl's schtick was that you could save money because you bagged your own groceries. You are correct, but did I care at 18yo? Nope. It's all coming together now, hats off to you and Bizz.

The Microwave Garden? Seriously? It's American fabricated puzzi. No self-respecting Italian-American eats there.
Please share your favorite Italian recipe. No paste and copy from a food web site. Your own recipe.

Who in their right mind goes out to eat spaghetti?
An entire box of the stuff is $0.99.
Add $5.99 sauce and $2.99 garlic bread, and your entire family is fed for $10.00.
You could splurge on langostinos for an additional $10.00, and still be money ahead.

Naturally, the troll from Jersey runs his mouth about things he knows nothing about. I grew up on the East Coast and my first marriage was to an Italian family.
In Columbus, Figlio, The Florentine, the original Salvi's, Basi, Marcella's...any of those could hold their own on the East Coast.

The sauce. It's truly an artform. Same with the selection and preparation of the cheeses.

He's black. He'll be peeling the Ragu label off the jar.

Reduce your garlic bread price by making your own. Little Glitter loves to make it.

That's fancy, may as well serve it in the starchy water that you cook the pasta in with some red food coloring.

It's an artform only at the finest restaurants, usually in the largest cities.
Or in the home of an amazing Italian cook.

Chains suck.
