I don't know why I remember this, but I do. But Omar was last owned by Fazio's in the 1970's. I don't know what happened after that. Fazio's didn't last long here, maybe they kept making bread for the Cleveland stores?
I just remembered why I know this ... my grandfather used to buy things from their outlet store. I would tag along on errands.
Fazio's and Gold Circle? Fazio's had the best Italian sausage!

That's why the pumpkin water tower is located in the south end now, instead of Nicholas Drive.
We have a really good mayor and he has done a great job. I believe when RCA left, many people left, many homes became rentals and were not take care of and lots of drugs. The police department has come down hard on the drug problems and arrested over 200 last year. The mayor utilized the demolition funds provided by the state and took down 30 plus homes. He is holding the bad landlords accountable, rentals with repeat drug offending tenants, for example, landlords are also charged for drugs as well as tenants. Hopes this makes sense, I am tired.

I was on the grand jury recently and was shocked at the drug and drug related crimes in Pickaway County.

Not my family. We were a distinct minority in that sense, especially being Catholics who didn't fawn over that wretched family.

Interesting, learned something new. I didn't know Fazio's existed down here, I didn't move to Columbus until 1987, thought the store was only a Cleveland area establishment.

Gold Circle...High School job. It was interesting when they started to phase in scanners at the cash register. Christmas rush, I always got pulled to the manual register since I knew how to work it. Helping customers by looking for inventory on Microfish.

I grew up in Northeast Ohio.
I have been to Columbus 3 times......once for a meeting and the other 2 times, testing for my professional licenses.

I am still in the vicinity, but not in the cities I lived in as a child.

Really, you don't miss it? Still a quiet little place with some problems but I love many of the old homes and pumpkins, and I still have my teeth! Ha!
Don't you miss Wittich's Candy Store? Established in 1840. The nations oldest family owned candy store? Better than Anthony Thomas Candy, in my opinion.
I don't remember ever being in Wittich's. Didn't it burn down years ago and they opened in a new location, maybe on High Street? Circleville has a major drug problem these days. Check out the board Topix 43113.

Circleville owns some land on Pontius Road near Bolender Pontius Road for a new water tower, I hear. Near Hargus Lake. Possibly another pumpkin tower?
In keeping with the times, they really should build a new water tower in the shape of an oxycontin. As a kid, I lived in the big brick house back the lane past Bolender Pontius Rd. No drugs, no theft, little crime in that area.

This was a perfectly fine, innocuous thread and subject until an out of state, racist, scummy black decided to troll it:

That's what you get for trolling a perfectly decent thread, booner. It's also the truth. Ever wonder why, after 400 years you people have never made it past 13% of the population?

Not to my knowledge, are you thinking of the Mason's Furniture fire? I know there is a drug problem and I think they are trying to encourage them to leave the area or go to jail when possible. Isn't that the case all over the US, for the most part?

For the most part, yes. Drugs are everywhere. If I remember correctly, Wittich's was located on east Main past the library, burned out and moved to High St. Heck I dunno, maybe it was the flower shop in that same block. Something burned when I was a kid,LOL.

You read too much into this, old woman. I was speaking about the crack cocaine that his mama boyfriend left on the table for her. If I gotta go, he gotta go.
My behavior is exemplary, heifer.
It appears you were scolded and you deserved it. Don't you have any friends?

Fazio's also took over the supermarket at the Ontario on South Hamilton Road.

The supermarkets inside the Uncle Bill's and Ontario stores were actually operated by Pick-n-Pay. Both were owned by Cook United, until Pick-n-Pay was sold off.

This is a Dayton ad, but it looks like the same thing happened there.
