Do you remember when Richard Avenue ended at the elementary school and the grass airstrip where Southwest Boulevard is now? Twin Towers? The A&W? Ben Franklin? Where Louie Geyer's barbershop was? Massenelli Brother's IGA?

Remember all. Wasn't there a restaurant called Russian Opal's on old Stringtown?

How about Weethee's Junk Yard on Stringtown? He had one eye I think.

The old street fair?

The Five and Ten on Broadway?

Super Duper?

My favorite in Grove City is Zamarelli's Pizza!

There used to be a little restaurant on the corner of Grove City Road and Broadway, like an old trailer car or something.

That's about right! The cops were always on us about curfew. Got hauled in once and my dad had to come get me. That didn't go over well.

Just remembering a few of these places. Lum's, Friendly Ice Cream and Shakey's Pizza were all on Hamilton Road. The area is like a war zone now and I doubt I'll ever set foot there again.
We ate at Lum's and Duff's Smorgasbord. On High st, there was BBF restaurant , and this little diner that had a big sign with a chef that looked like Big Boy's. The sign is still there but the diner is a lounge now. The Post Office sits right behind it.

It was Rush and Opal's Party House. It's now the Grove City United Methodist Church office. Weethees was off-limits to us kids - huge rats. Ben Franklin's 5 & 10 had a party room above it.

When I was a kid, Mr. Weethee called my mother and asked her to lunch. She was afraid, he had one eye. I remember she told my father and he told her she should go. She was so mad. We always teased her about him.

I remember Rush and Opal's. I thought it was Russian Opal's. Big old place, looked scary. There was a field were the Huntington Bank is at on Hoover and the old post office. We used to ride our bikes on the paths there and get box turtles. We would ride over to A & W and push the buttons outside to order and take off.

Yeah inbred, back in the 50's you hicks didn't cross the tracks over towards 2nd ave in UrbanCrest. But in 2013, your meth head women ride through there for a fix by the car loads.

I don't think I know you and don't know why you're so soured on living but I was just a kid then, raised to know my place and limited to how far my feet could carry me. I had no reason to go into Urbancrest and it was too far away to walk anyway.

I'm not sure York is still open. I've been in the West Broad and Springfield (Upper Valley Mall) locations. Seems I went down Broad St. a few weeks ago and the building was for sale. Could be wrong.
There is a York Steak House off or around Georgesville Road. Just saw it yesterday. Haven't seen one in 20 years.
