There is a red, yellow, blue and green actually. Seems to me it's primary colors. Ironically in the Atlanta news chats there are a few Asians have commented that could care less and are chalking it up to a need for attention.

Portland Oregon also has the Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow line.

Portland also has a large population of Asians, Asian-Americans. Haven't heard them complaining here about the colors of the rail lines.

Looks as if it's just another group in Atlanta looking to play the race-baiting card.

Atlanta folks: I hope your Agency Chief sticks to his/her decision and just let the people see just how ridiculous this is.

Don't like it, get out of the country. That is stupid to think it was a racist naming.

Apparently no one should ever say anything anymore because some overly sensitive douchebags are always offended. This whole PC crap needs to come to an end, bunch of sissies.
Tried that. It did not work. I was being quiet and minding my own business but my silence was interpreted as hostility toward the people I was not talking to. A whole lot of nasty accusations were made based on a few wrong assumptions. The inmates are running the asylum, you can not win.

I'm usually pretty good at spotting subtle racism and I'll call people out on it, but this is crazy. First of, "Yellow" is a pretty old term for Asian. I've heard a lot of derogatory terms for Asian in my life, and "Yellow" isn't really one of them. Second, it's a primary color. And, no, I wouldn't have a problem with a train that goes through a black neighborhood being called the "black line" or a white neighborhood being called the "white line" or anything like that. As has been stated before, plenty of cities use Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow for their subway lines. This isn't something that was done to offend Asians, and it's nothing that anyone would have even thought about had not some people complained. Stupid complaints like this make actually hurt the cause of ending racism because it less likely that real racism gets taken seriously.

Yes. It is the line that has the horse pulled wagon trains with teepees as station stops.

Lived in ATL in the 80's, locals refered to MARTA as Moving Africans Rapily Thru Altanta so the race thing is old news there, and they think the civil war is still a winable war..........
Maybe outside of the city, but inside the city has many more that do not think that way. It's kind of like saying that inside of Columbus most wanted Mccain to win over Obama, it didn't happen. MARTA once elected a welfare queen as chairman of the board. She got on the board as a community activist and was elected chair by her cronies. Think of that, a budget over a billion run by a community activist welfare queen. It did not have a good ending unless you liked losing money.

"I was offended as an Asian man. Would we run a line through East Point or the West End and call it the 'black' line?"

Excellent point Mr. Yasutake!

probably not - we usually don't call ourselves caucasian-Americans, or European-Americans. The guy who posted the part about everyone leaving must be a native American! I think the better point is that we should be less divisive in the way we label ourselves and each other.
