The police cannot be everywhere at once, and society does not want to pay the taxes to support such an idea.
The police may not be everywhere but I'm sure there was some officer with a badge In the station 100 ft away from where the incident took place...it's also a fire station too so Mr. White was very close to law enforcement and medical attention...both in which he didn't seek...I feel that Mr. White is more involved than the article states, but I wasn't there so it's only my opinion...what Mr. Hannah done is in no way the correct way to act...there must be some penalty, but not a death penalty...given the facts I have, he will probably get involuntary manslaughter, which means maybe a year in jail or just probation...for those who think 51 yrs of age as elderly need to get a grip too...Mr. Hannah didn't assault an old man, but just a "man"!!!

They stopped the postings on NBC4i.com , I have read the comments every one, every day.
I am David White's wife. Some have said that justice would be to have this man Coy die. I feel that you should maybe hear from me..
The loss of my husband has been devastating..The loss of my son's father has been far worse. Can I say I want Coy to pay for what he done to us.YES..but to take his life is not what I desire. To have him know that he has taken something so special from a small child, and a loving wife, that he has done the same to his child and to his wife....And all in a single moment of RAGE.. Justice enough if HE has a heart....
My son cried for his daddy today, I held him and tried as best I could to comfort him. He says to me..Mommy sometimes it does not feel real..and then sometimes it feels too real..and he cries..
Tomorrow we go to the piece of earth that holds my husband and his dad..at my sons request..a 9 year old child with nothing more then memories and a small plot of land.. I can only hope that he can make it through his day..I can only hope that I can make it through my day without too many tears..rest assured there will be tears,,
Sometimes I fell that I have cried for years, not just weeks..and I know that I will cry for years to come..everytime my son does something that any other child would do as they grow..but not having his daddy here to see it..
If nothing more comes from this tragic happening..I can only pray that one individual reads this and holds his temper, and does not strick..regardless the situation..

Dear Mrs.White,
I am so sorry for your loss. Your words brought tears to my eyes and I cannot begin to imagine your pain. I am so sorry that your 9 years old son won't have his father on his side because a thug decided to attack Mr. White. There has to be a punishment and a message that this dark and insane behavior won't be tolerated.
May he rest in peace and I hope you will find in your son the warmth, the love and the comfort to cope with your pain.
Hugs

Well let's see, to avoid a confrontation the deceased should have rolled up his window. If he was sucker punched that's one thing. The lesson is that sitting in your car with your window down when someone approaches to physically damage you for your stupid driving makes you a sitting duck. I honked my horn at someone who didn't notice the light turned green and he became enraged and followed me all the way to my home. He brandished a club as he was sitting in his car at the base of my driveway. I went over to his car, grabbed his club, bent it in half, put my hand on the lock so he couldn't get out and smashed his glasses into his face so blood was streaming down his face. I was 25 and the guy was the age of the deceased. Certainly, the dude should say he just wanted to talk and the old man grabbed a weapon and he had to defend himself.
You are sad and sick. Is there no one in your life that you love, or who loves you. Why didn't your mother teach you coping skills to deal with the frustrations of life. She should also have taught you that your actions are yours alone and you will suffer the consequences.

when will the youth in out society learn, never of course. Deepest condolences to the family. I hope the **** gets the death penalty.
Law enforcement is not responsible for your safety and has no obligation to defend you or your family. You are responsible for your own defense. Law enforcement will arrive later and sort out the pieces. If Mr White were a ccw holder and used lethal force he likely would be charged because castle doctrine states that you can defend yourself in your car, but only if you did not instigate the incident, which he did by yelling out his window at the stop light. In summary: be courteous, be prepared, and be able to prove to a jury that you were right. An armed society is a polite society.

people have no idea what they are talking about! this 24 year old young man had never been in trouble and was provoked by someone who was in a hurry to get somewhere who didn't physically hit him with his fist but with his CAR TWICE!!!! you shouldn't judge people when you don't know the hole story. I am saddened that this man has lost his life, but the young man accused does not deserve to loose his!

people should not comment if they do not know both sides of the story... unfortunately the young man accused does not have the opportunity to defend himself to those of you who say he deserves to die. This young man had never been involved in any violence or crime in his life. He is also a father. This young man was provoked by a man who did not physically hit him with his fist but HIT HIM WITH HIS CAR!! TWICE!!! I do agree that justice should be served, but this was not MURDER! I am saddened for the man's wife and child and have read what she wrote on here, and think anyone who wants to comment should read what she has to say! My prayers go out to BOTH FAMILIES!

It has been several months since this incident, and I'd bet that many of the people who jumped on this band wagon have already forgotten this "story". However, to those families involved, this is not a story.

I am certain, as Christmas nears, Mrs. White and her son are remembering their husband/father and Mr. Hannah's family are remembering him as well.

Each family missing their family member. Each family morning. Each family facing the first Christmas without their loved ones.

I am Coy's Aunt and I know he did not mean this man harm. I also do not believe that he caused Mr. White's demise.

I believe that there is a truth that MUST be revealed.

I feel for Mr. White's family. I pray for their peace and that God comforts them. I feel for his son who faces Christmas without hid daddy.

I feel for Coy and his little baby boy who faces Christmas without his daddy and his mother who won't have her only child home for Christmas.

My sincere hope is that the truth is revealed. I pray that God's light is shined on this situation. I do not wish to tarnish Mr. White's name, especially in death. I do not wish further grief on his family.

I do wish, however, that the truth be revealed and Coy only be punished for what he actually did.

Mrs. White, God bless you and your son.

Hi!!! I know this comment is a little late...I am very sorry for you, your son, and your entire families loss...I happen to be a member of Coy's family. I was not there and neither were a majority of these people posting idiotic or irrelevant comments. I do agree that Coy acted very irrationally and there are MANY other ways to handle situations like this!!! People (some)are so quick to use violence in every aspect of life anymore and it will only get worse as time goes on...Basically what I am saying is thank you for commenting on this matter...Coy should be punished for the violent act he committed...he broke the law by taking matters into his own hands which is unacceptable...I can assure you he did NOT mean to take his life and taking his life and leaving another child without a father will not bring him back and from what I gathered from your post you agree. But I will say again...what happened was a tragedy and people need to earn to use their mouths and not their hands or weapons!!!!
