As an example, Bob claims to be Catholic.
He upholds the Church's moral teachings, but denies the virgin birth.
In fact, he admits that the Church is more about culture than faith for him, personally.
A faithful Catholic would never deny the virgin birth.
Ah, so only the perfect can be considered religious... I think I understand radical Islam now.

Where is it in the Constitution that the federal government has the power to order a Catholic institution to employ a lesbian?
It doesn't. But it does say that if their gonna impose "reasonable" rules, they have to be applied evenly against all classes of people, and not arbitrarily.

Child molesters at church/school = good...keep job; Lesbians in private life = bad...fired???

Very bad policy. Cost lot of money.

And since one sin is as bad as another, any sin can get one fired, correct?
Doctrine doesn't work that way. And your attempts at Alinsky won't work here.

Claiming a religion as one's own does not make one religious.
And, certainly, one who is living in unrepentant sin according to God's own Word is not faithful to God.
Religious, perhaps.
Redeemed, probably not.
As a Christian, I am embarrassed by the number of Christians who believe that their particular brand is the one and only right way.

Well let me ask you this.
This religious institution has a very lengthy, well documented history of retaining in its pool of employees men who had sexual relations with juvenile parishoners, in violation of both criminal statutes, and Church doctrine.
Now, this woman who was employed for quite a few years and apparently was well liked by many, finds herself being fired, not for engaging in heinous criminal acts which victimized juvenile parishoners, but for having her adult, private relationship exposed through an obituary.
Do you think maybe there's just a wee a bit of hypocrisy within that large organization?

This issue is confined to the Diocese of Columbus. Not that large an organization, nor one known to have been a hotbed of abuse.
BTW, priests don't sign contracts as far as I know.

Well, Mr. Once-a-Catholic-Always-a-Catho lic, yes, I think that is a fairly commonly accepted definition.

I suppose one could ask for a note from her minister, or a certificate of Baptism.

As for opposing "Constitutional duties," what the hell do you people do every day with hate speech legislation and gun control? Apparently you people don't have a problem with your hypocrisy.
Deflect away all you'd like. Bottom line is that you're a Judas who will suck up to whichever side is winning. You are a coward, with all your tough talk you are exactly the kind of wuss who would get shot with their own gun in the event of a home invasion.

So you do favor another nation over the US, flee, go, live among them. Your antiquated John Birch Soceity act is old, stale and worn out.

Sorry Paco, but I don't see consensual sex between adults as vile, and I believe that fairy tale was concocted to control the masses.

I'm free to believe what I wish. I don't care if you're offended by it. Lots of your beliefs offend me, quite frankly.

Oh, and just how DOES it work? Did God tell them some sins are worse than others? And where in the employment materials is "how it works" explained?

No contracts? All the more reason to conclude that the Church is acting arbitrarily when the diddlers don't get fired but the lesbian teacher gets fired simply because her partner's name shows up in an obit.

The rules demand that the pedophile priests be removed, the rules once allowed them to be put in "therapy" though this no longer happens.

You hate us, I get that, but you are claiming that we not only have no authority in terms of determining standards, even in our own house.

You lick the boots of the state.

Favor? No. But they granted me citizenship out of the blue four years ago. I wouldn't take up arms against Canada even before that and certainly not now. The idea of being faced with that situation doesn't exactly keep me awake at night.
Your personal attack is at the level of a fifth grader, K. You really are trying to compensate for something...no doubt the same thing that drove you nuts several months ago.
BTW, the JBS is mainstream. They sponsor CPAC. But you couldn't be expected to actually keep up with things, now could you?

Actually that is not true.

One of the debates in the Reformation was over free will.

Calvinism, for instance, believes in predestination, and there is no free will.
