Legalizing pot isn't the same thing as requiring everybody to smoke it an go into work stoned.
You can test positive for a quick hit. The poster above is right - stoned or not, it can make you liable for on the work accident.

Dealers are just businessmen selling what people want. Start executing junkies. Besides some of the most dangerous drugs are the so called antidepressants and Statin ( cholesterol ) meds being prescribed like tic tics at a garlic eating contest
I'll agree with you on some of those drugs, Spook, but statin drugs have saved my life. Yes they can be dangerous, but you do what you have to do.

Let me further clarify. Even if someone has a medical marijuana prescription and their employer has a zero tolerance policy, the person can be fired. Many employers do random drug tests. If your number comes up, guess what? Da Boot!
And? I'd tell an employer to stuff it if they asked me to take a drug test. If I come into work too stoned to do my job, they should fire me. But it's none of their business if I had a hit or two off of the ol' bong over the weekend. They aren't paying me for that time.

I know exactly what it means, and I'd tell an employer to mind their own business if they asked me to take a drug test.

You wouldn't get the job to begin with because you'd have to sign the acknowledgement of the policies outlined in the employee handbook.
Newsflash: There isn't a real "career" job in America that doesn't involve being drug tested.

So those in an "at will" job would find themselves out on the street, jobless. If that's ok with you, then by all means, refuse testing.

Some employers bar employees from tobacco use, even with legal marijuana, smoking it is arguably the dumbest way to consume it.

I know what your point is.I lost my trucking career over one joint that I smoked on July 4'th 1996.It doesn't matter what you do on your time. The man will get you in the end if you have a zero tolerance job.Thank god for my current boss that I have been with since 1992.But getting old sucks.

Asking you want you meant is baiting you?
My point is my drug use is none of my employer's business, unless it effects my job.

I have a beautiful job now since 2001.But I'm getting old and this sucks. My heart was in truck driving because I was very good at it.But after that one joint,it will be very hard to get it back.It would cost me now over $5,000 to get it back.Life sucks now compared to the 70's.I will do a toke in your honor right now just because I can!!!

Yeah, aging is no fun. But I still hope you can find a job you love just as much! And thanks for the toke!
