Good for you. Support what YOU like with YOUR resources. That's what charity is all about.

Yes, all taxes that can be passed along are passed along. That's what most people who support raising taxes on the rich don't get... the rich are expert at passing their costs along, so when you increase their costs, you're increasing yours.... either through higher prices, or through less money due to decreased opportunity. There's a tipping point where either things will get better or get worse, and we're leaning toward the wrong side of that point. If the Repubicans cave (and I think they will, because they're Narcissists, more interested in their personal careers than in doing the job for which they were hired), I'm afraid we're going to go to a very dark place and the effects will be felt for decades.
We are indeed getting closer and closer to the tipping point.
And I'm sure it will be blamed on the republicans. Who else?
One thing I think is happening is more and more groups are claiming minority status and the benefits and advantages that go along. Added them all together the minories out number the typical majority tax paying, non-entitlement receiving American.
But that's only one way we are reaching a tipping point. Let me get some figures.

Difference between charity and responsibility.
We support public education through across the board taxes of various kinds because we understand that education has broad and general social and economic benefits that derive to all--whether parents or not.
Those "benefits" should be charged at the other end... when the "educated" person starts producing.

Exactly... by caving, they are setting themselves up to get the blame when it goes south.
