There has been a complete mischaracterization of SB1062 by the MSM.
If the public is to be educated, they must educate themselves.

For starters:

"SB1062, which would have amended Arizona’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act, has been egregiously misrepresented both before and after the veto. The federal government and eighteen states have Religious Freedom Restoration Acts (RFRAs). Another twelve or thirteen states interpret their state constitutions to provide similar protections. These laws enact a uniform standard — substantial burden and compelling interest — to be interpreted and applied to individual cases by courts. They rest on the sound premise that we should not punish people for practicing their religion unless we have a very good reason. These laws have produced surprisingly few cases, on gay rights or any other issue; before the current litigation on contraception, most people had never heard of the federal RFRA. SB1062 would have amended the Arizona RFRA to address two ambiguities that have been the subject of litigation elsewhere. It would have provided that people are covered when state or local government requires them to violate their religion in the conduct of their business, and that people are covered when sued by a private citizen invoking state or local law to demand that they violate their religion. But nothing in the amendment would have said who wins in either of these cases. SB1062 did not say that businesses can discriminate for religious reasons. It said that business people could assert a claim or defense under RFRA, in any kind of case (discrimination cases were not even mentioned, although they would have been included), that they would have to prove a substantial burden on a sincere religious practice, that the government or the person suing them would then have the burden of proof on compelling government interest, and that the state courts in Arizona would make the final decision."

-- Prof. Doug Laycock, Washington Post

"Despite hysterical claims that SB 1062 would have “legalized discrimination” in Arizona, you may be surprised to learn that sexual orientation and gender identity are not protected classes in Arizona. Which is to say, except in Phoenix, Flagstaff, and Tucson, which include those traits in local ordinances, it’s already legal to discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity in Arizona. That dystopian Arizona with LGBT folks sitting at different lunch counters and forced out of jobs en masse and booted from retail stores? Under Arizona law, that could exist right now. And yet it doesn’t. Because Arizona isn’t full of hordes of cackling Christians plotting an LGBT apartheid state."

Like her being the spokesperson for JC Penney and they are on the verge of closing? The right can put you out business, if they choose to do so.

I'm female, and I'm a shopper. Although I really liked the idea of just going into the store and paying a certain price, most females like the game - meaning combining sales plus coupons plus clearance and then feeling like they're scoring a sweet deal. There were *many* complaints that JCP has ruined that game. Think how many are really to pay higher prices at Giant Eagle in order to get a "discount" on their gasoline. Americans love mind games.

Additionally, many long-time JCP folks got laid off and I have a feeling that did more to damage their business than any spokesperson could - particularly one who is generally well-liked, whether or not one approves of her lifestyle.

The speech from the CEO of Apple cost him my business. Sold the stock already and took the profits.

It will take a couple years to punish them by not purchasing due to having all new apple equipment now.

Ellen May be gay, but she is the most caring, generous, down to earth, funniest person there is.
She has many qualities people I know don't have.
Her heart is always in the right place and she's not a phoney. What you see is what you get.
I don't care what life style a person lives, as long as they have a kind heart, empathy, and love for others.
Until you walk in someone's shoes, do not judge.

JC Penny has been sliding for many years....their products, clothes are worse than other stores.....they slit their own bottom line all by themselves.

The public has only seen her public persona.
The same is true for every other celebrity/public figure.

HOMO'S are popular these days. After all they are the newly found third sex, who has been discriminated for so long, they are the new minority group of America ,who's time has come to being..If you don't accept, like the Boy Scouts of America has for over a hundred years against homosexuals leading our sons into manhood, and big donors like Disney pulls your funding, and Uniteded Way etc. We're headed to Sodom........

As far as people go, as long as they don't do me wrong, I have no problem, straight, gay or whatever. We're all human beings and should be treated as such.

There is always good in everyone, some you have to dig deep but on the whole, there's some redeeming values in all of us.

No living creature on earth mates the same gender for life!!..It's a lie,and it goes against God's teachings, and Mother Earth's teaching if you don't believe in a God.The good book say's to go fourth and multiply, that isn't going to happen between a man and a man or woman and a woman!!...Might as well have sex with yourself, neither one produces nothing. But if you believe in fairy tales, well ,I have a reason why the dinosaures diappeared, they all went GAY!!....If your crazy enough to believe that homo's were born that way ,then my theory about dinosaurer's isn't wrong either......Gays didn't come from the land of homo.......They came here the old fashion way,a vaginal birth like the rest of us. They don't deserve minority status....It's a chosen lifestyle just like any lifestyle we human's choose to live by,it's a choice !!...

After making the ludicrous statement, below, Ellen's demise may be at hand.
In which event...godspeed.

Oprah has been downhill since she went over the barrel back in 2008

The real problem is the audience, daytime TV is slow motion subversion, Ellen forgot "slow"

EDLP works great in theory, but only if you provide value and have credibility on price. pricing $40 jeans at $34 doesn't exactly make me want to grab them.

Mate? Same gender? An oxymoron if ever there was one.
