"In her couple of times at DD, she was not convinced that this was a good group (the crowd at DD) for me to be hanging out with. First time (at DD the crowd) was just boring. Second time (at DD) she catergorized folks (the crowd at DD) as bullying.
Is that really so hard for you to understand? It has nothing to do with George and his Merry Band of Sycophants.
O.M.G.
She is specifically referencing the Topix crowd during the two occasions on which they [Reader and her daughter] went to DD to meet up with Topix posters.

Personal experiences and statistics say that blacks that are a result of AA, do poorly and get special privileges.
I don't know anything about how well he did in law school, but I do remember that he admitted that he was a poor student in undergrad. His admission to Columbia is almost certainly a result of affirmative action.
And W got into Yale because of family connections. As do a whole lot of white people who then do poorly as an undergrad. In real life, the meritocracy is not nearly as ruthless as you think it is.

If you're going to lay that on Bush, you need to do the same for Gore re: family and poor grades as an undergrad and Kerry re: doing poorly as an undergrad.

Legacy privilege largely no longer exists in the way it previously did, but continue with your subtle line of denigrating white achievement.

And so what? Yale was formed by Protestants as a school to train clergy. It is a private school and Bush is a Protestant. If they want to make allowances for educating Protestants, that's their business.

But Bush was never held out as a genius.

Barry had worse grades, not to mention a worse drug habit, and YOUR white guilt crowd was billing him as some kind of a genius.

Anyone can get into most any college via a hefty contribution. It's no secret. I say, let the wealthy do that and leave the scholarships for those that cannot afford college. And I I know a wealthy family that did just that when their son was awarded an athletic scholarship to Bowdoin. He went to Bowdoin, but they turned down the scholarship and paid his way so someone else could take advantage of it.

So much for the mean, greedy, thoughtless wealthy.

A military base is just as restricted (ID cards) as some schools are.

If you want to be your typical technical arrogant lawyer self, the Aurora shooting in the theater wasn't a public place either, and neither was the CT shooting.

By the way, Division III schools don't offer athletic scholarships.

This should be fun. Explain how a movie theater isn't a public place.

Semi-public depending on what part of the base was involved. Did you know that certain ex-spouses, divorced from a member of the military retain their BX privileges? Same with widows...my mother occasionally shopped at the BX for years after my father died.

Technically, no. But in a financial aid package, gifted athletes often see what would normally be loans turn into grants. D-III schools have been playing that angle for years.

You stated the other day that you weren't a "signatory" to the agreement. And if you and Duke had a brain between you, you'd see that my attack was directed at you, not your kid.

In fact, the only folks ever in DD on a Sunday afternoon were the Topix regulars. My point was that the raised voices were not because the place was a dive, but because there were some angry folks. Glitter didn't like being challenged to her face regarding some stuff she put up online, and some other folks jumped in (verbally) with a defense--something along the lines of I deserved maltreatment for disagreeing with folks politically.

George was not among them while I was there. He admitted on several occasions that he was afraid that if he came when I was there I would summon the police and report that he made me feel uncomfortable. Apparently he believes that CPD have nothing better to do than to arrest white suburbanites in bars who are reported to make women feel uncomfortable.
