Certainly bolsters my faith in this type of barrier's ability to slow and re-direct a speeding vehicle.

The barrier was installed where a fatal crash occurred in 2007 involving a vehicle that crossed into oncoming traffic, 10TV's Chuck Strickler reported.

==========

Remember when ODOT, against all common sense, used to claim that barriers weren't necessary on highways because there is adequate separation between the highways? Like global warming, this was their "settled science". Of course, any idiot would know that any kind of barrier would help cut crossover accidents, but try and tell that to the experts who think rubes like us with common sense don't know what we're talking about.

After all, the science is settled!

With it already falling apart, I doubt the thing could stop someone on a 10 speed from crossing over into incoming traffic!

Perry's just another Texas RINO with a bible, not unlike 43. He supported Al Gore in 1988 when he was already harping on global warming, has grown government and increased the debt, but worst of all, he's mushy on immigration. Perry will turn out to be a big disappointment.

Why don't they just pile up used tires like they do at race tracks?

Iv'e seen these silly cable barriers. Maybe they should have widened the roads outward instead of widening them into the median so that the median was so narrow.

These cable things look like something they slapped together at the last minute after they realized their mistake at making the median too narrow.

Obviously you did not read the entire article. A contractor installed the cable barriers and will be out to repair the problem at no cost to the state. Instead of just reading the headline and commenting take the time and read the whole story.

Have you completely lost your marbles? Rick Perry is a globalist. He's attended many of the recent Bilderberg meetings that do nothing but sway governments and set policy across the globe.

He tried selling Texas highways to Spain.

He doubled the debt in Texas as Governor.

He was Al Gore's campaign manager. He was a democrat who was coerced to switching to a Republican to win an election. He's a RINO

The work was performed by a private contractor. Now you can throw somebody else under the bus.
