Where did I say anything about being under oath? I've answered questions from police officers who most certainly don't administer an oath, but expect truthful answers.

You know damn well if a teacher tried the same stunt with a Muslim student and the Lord's Prayer, you'd be on the phone to the ACLU.
But she was, Blanche, she was. She said I don't want to say that and she was given another assignment. Aye carumba.

Was she talking to a law enforcement officer engaged in an official investigation? I missed that part of the article.

Heya! Former educator here! Failing grades are incredibly common, even in public schools. For a look at how common they are, looking at k-12 pass/fail rates for different districts should be a quick google away!
Where did you teach? The ghettos of Bradford? Brixton?

Let's see...do you think standards were low in an affluent Boston suburb in a high school that graduated a commander of the International Space Station, a founder of Monster.com , the GM of the New York Jets and an Olympic gold medalist in gymnastics?

Tokyo. Just after my MA. Really one of the best cities in the world, after London and BA.

Also, in an undisclosed location in the urban US. In a less beautiful city, though closer to my heart.

And then given an F. How many kids who recited the Mexican pledge got an F?

We don't know that, do we? We also don't know how well, or not so well, any of them performed. But we will just go ahead and declare that this teacher is some horrible abuser of rights because it is easy and vogue.

The Zs to Ss are actually much neater, aesthetically.

Prayer is slightly different.

However, she made her statement, she was heard and provided another assignment.

Now--are you arguing that she did poorly deliberately to make some kind of point?

So, you went to a high school where kids got off easy.

That would be considered an "n" of one.

Did they teach you any statistics at Colby?

BTW--I went to a public high school with an enrollment of 3,000.

I'm pretty sure that the intent of the assignment was not to manipulate allegiance to a foreign country, any more than learning Le Marseillaise is for a French class.

Nonetheless, when the kid objected, she was allowed to do an alternate assignment.

When 25 kids are assigned to recite something, how many could possibly get an F? My guess is none.
