To be absolutely fair to George, I think I started talking to him again in his Hugh iteration. And so far he has managed to refrain from calling me anything inappropriate.

So--he is a slow learner. But, he does appear to be educable.

Respect? Get real. Conservatives are disrespected on Topix as a matter of practice. The double standard is alive and well, which is fine as Topix is private property. But stop pretending that there is respect for opposing views here.
You place a ridiculous value on a screen name if you think a person's ego is wrapped up in one. I will say that nobody rules a forum, but certain people drive it and that makes money for Topix. They have a tendency to treat their best "customers" like dogs at times...a most curious business practice, although not unheard of from the left. Frankly, I imagine some mods are more judicious than others...that's usually the case in most online boards. There can be no doubt that at times posters are sanctioned merely for their political beliefs, despite having used no profanity, ethnic slurs or copyright violations.
So spare us the high and mighty "I am the Great Oz" ramblings. I don't expect anything to change, but Topix would be a more robust and interesting place if the real trolls (the ones with zero to add to discussions, who simply post to bait others) were dealt with. You might even see the regulars settle down a bit.

As for Karl, I have yet to see proof that you or anyone else forced him to stop using the avatar. If so, then is Topix erasing every avatar with a living person's likeness? If not, why not?
