Constitution written in 1787.
Ratified by enough states to take effect June 21, 1788.
Took effect March 4, 1789.
Ratified by all thirteen original states May 1790.
Glad I could also clear that up for you. No charge again.
And the Bill of Rights wherein the Second Amendment [the topic of this discussion] lies...?

Then why not say Bill of Rights, or the 2nd Amendment, copyright (which is still wrong) 1791?

Technically the original Bill of Rights is still not completely ratified, the original first Article failed to reach the necessary 3/4 state ratification, but is still "out there" for ratification.

Say what you mean and mean what you say.

Sloppy writing gets you swatted.

From the Preamble:

"RESOLVED by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America, in Congress assembled, two thirds of both Houses concurring, that the following Articles be proposed to the Legislatures of the several States, as amendments to the Constitution of the United States, all, or any of which Articles, when ratified by three fourths of the said Legislatures, to be valid to all intents and purposes, as part of the said Constitution; viz."

You logically cannot take just the first 10 amendments and not include the other 17, because all the amendments are part of the Constitution and none are more or less important than any other amendment. So by your logic, the Constitution wasn't ratified until 1992.

Just admit you didn't think this through.

You and your sidekick, CR Christ, aren't thinking it through.

The Second Amendment -- to topic of this discussion -- did not become a part of the Constitution until 1791.

Let's walk through this. You wrote,

Then when The Lone Ranger questioned you on it, you wrote,

Ratified 1791.
Of course, the copyright symbol is for laughs.
What a dolt.
Quite clearly, by the plain language of your posts, without any interpretation, you asserted that the United States Constitution was ratified in 1791. Also quite clearly, that is a false statement. What is interesting, is your death grip on trying to defend the truth of your clearly false statement. I think, perhaps, a pattern is emerging.

As it pertains to this discussion, the Second Amendment, part and parcel of the U.S. Constitution, was ratified in 1791. When we speak of the Second Amendment, we speak of Constitutional rights -- not Bill of Rights' rights.

But, hey...do you want me to bow to your specificity?
The same kind you want to apply to the Second Amendment...where it does NOT exist.

The Bill of Rights became part and parcel of the US Constitution in 1791, as stated in its preamble. The Second Amendment is contained therein.

Is it really so hard for you to grasp?

Well that must mean that the Constitution was ratified in 1791 then too. That whole 1789 thing never happend.

You are really weird.
