A topic on another board piqued my curiousity so I thought I would pose the question here.

Are there more Indians fans or more Reds fans in Columbus these days?

I am NOT asking who you are a fan of. I am asking which team you think has more fans in Columbus these days.

One vote? Going to bump again.

Or is it that nobody cares about baseball anymore?

Cubs fan here, although I use that term loosely in this era of the sport. Baseball started dying with the departure of Fay Vincent from the commissioner's office in 1992, was damaged horribly by the 1994 strike and went on life support around 2002 when the drug era was exposed. Every record in the past 20 years is asterisked, as far as I'm concerned.

I don't see vote options on my version of Topix
threads put me down as thinking more Reds fans. My self I like the Yankees. Roid up and knock the hide off the ball.

That wasn't the question, though. The question is do you think there are more Reds fans or more Indians fans in Columbus.

Based on sports gear alone, I would have to say Indians. I almost never see anybody wearing Reds attire.

I'll never understand why, unless they grew up north of Morrow County. NL ball is far superior and the Reds have a record of comparative success.

Was a Reds fan growing up, now more of an Indians fan since the early 90's.

Not a huge baseball fan, so my reasons are superficial.

1. Jacobs Field is far better than Great American, which looks cheap.(PNC Park is better than either.)

2. Cleveland supports our teams, so I don't mind returning the favor.

3. I just hate the general attitude of people in Cincinnati. Kentucky can have everything south of the Norwood Lateral, as far as I'm concerned.

The Yankees suck, and I had no reason to care about Alex Rodriguez one way or the other.

Yet suddenly I want to see the Yankees win the World Series, and I want Rodriguez to lead them there and win Series MVP. That will make the suits squirm!

I do not think Columbus is much of a baseball town, but it probably leans toward the Indians. It definitely favors the Browns over the Bengals, and maybe even the Squeelers over the Bengals.

I see more Reds fans here in Columbus, to answer your question.

I'd say 1 out of 5 people wearing baseball apparel are Indian fans, 3 out of 5 Reds, however when I wear my Reds gear, I've had numerous people wanting to BS about the season and being a fan as well.

Cubs, Pirates, Braves, Cardinals & White Sox are about the other majority.

^^^Mostly 1 division of fans in Ohio^^^
GO Reds!!!

Yep. Tribe wins with respect to your question.
I am not a big baseball fan myself.
But, I'd have to go with the Braves.
