Whitehall, workers at DSCC to suffer under sequester

Feb 25, 2013 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: The Columbus Dispatch

Employees at the Defense Supply Center Columbus make their living in part by counting - their base is one of three inventory points for the Department of Defense - but now they're doing a stomach-churning brand of math that they would prefer to avoid.

Unemployment income is taxable.
The things that are typically attributed with driving state coffers up or down, though are the purchases of "big ticket items," like cars--or that boat you thought you shouldn't have to pay sales tax on.
I paid taxes on the boat; and unemployment being taxed is a joke.

giving back some of what is given does not provide revenue; but paying sales tax on a boat does.

your liberal brainwashed head is comical.

the boat was taxed twice; and actually even paid with real money earned in the private sector.

can you imagine the horror?

The reason the state treasury is down is because not enough people are paying into it.

plain and simple.

go spin a kite tail and fly that around awhile.

The sequester implements cuts across the board, rather than applying any sensible rationale.
Get it?
really....thanks for repeating what I have heard 1000 times.

Ask your god Obama why he did that.

he alone is responsible for it.

the sequester is also not a cut.

it is a decrease in the amount of increased spending.

no cut...still an increase

you liberals try to re-define everything.

I advocate our legislators doing what we elected them to do, which is, in part, to deal with the realities of what it costs to run our government, what is needed and what is not and the impact of the whole on our country including the economy.
The sequester was designed as a motivator for those legislators who have a hard time bringing themselves to the same table with people they disagree with and making difficult choices. If you wanna play the blame game John Boehner was talking about it before Obama. But in any case it puts in place across the board cuts that don't particularly make any sense--but they were simple to write up at the last minute during the last manufactured crisis.
One real difficulty when it comes to big cuts in the third or fourth fiscal quarter is that you cannot go back and unspend anything that has already happened. So the impact of a percentage annual cut is multiplied.
have you now re-defined big as a bit over 2%?

what is huge?

Its time for over-paid, lazy government employees with massive benefits and retirement scams and union thugs to get what's they deserve. These government "workers" are whining over a tiny 2% reduction in spending when private workers are getting killed by higher taxes due to Obamacare.
Shut up government employees!
That's right Oliver. Government workers are like zombies, waiting to retire.

In fact, I did.

But, I have also heard his list ripped apart by people who had the time to look into it more thoroughly.

It's just a list of stuff.

And when examined closely it falls apart.

An annual cut of 2%, if not implemented unto the 3rd quarter becomes 4%. If not implemented until the 4th quarter than 8% is required.

It's a list of wasteful government spending you refuse to acknowledge.

$18 BILLION...in 2012 alone.

K, tip. Since you claim to be the expert on Senator Coburn's work--how did he define "wasteful" for purposes of his "study"?

The government is going to HAVE to. It's going to be even worse next year because the tax increase on "the rich" is going to result in even lower revenues.

You could tax the rich at 100% and still you would bring in less revenue than you are now. The rich can afford to leave. The poor however can not leave. The poor do not create jobs. I know you libs have still not caught onto this concept yet. But as soon as you loose your job because Obummer is taxing the company you work for at California rates you will realize how desperate the situation is and that high taxes do kill jobs. No job, no health coverage is a good start to being homeless. Then you can really be a positive role model to your kids!

proving what a joke for the world to read, you the O Brilliant Reader.

only state social worker math works in Fantasy ignorant bliss the way you presented.

reality is..........

with a budget of over 4 trillion dollars, limiting the amount of increased spending by 2% of overall budget expenditure becomes 8% in Readers liberal fantasy world.

Spending more than year prior is a cut, when you steal others money in liberal speak.

a 3rd grader can subtract 80 billion from 4 trillion; and figure it has much to do about nothing.

go gather your loons Kosmic, Che, Duke, Pale rider, etc.

when gathered you should take your comedy act on the road. You are sure to harvest many vegetables.

PS: Don't wear anything white....it stains.
