Even $10.10 an hour doesn't allow for much spending at the discretionary level and besides which, less than 3.5M are making minimum wage. Have you noticed "value meals" creeping up to the $7 mark to cover healthcare, etc.? Do you honestly believe that someone on a budget will increase their purchase of such items, or are you realistic enough to acknowledge that purchase of such items will decrease by those on a budget?

That just goes to show you that certain people who have nothing better to do with their time come here solely to antagonize.

Are you suggesting a 20 dollar an hour minimum wage?
What are you suggesting?
woof
I'm suggesting what I suggested before. This is for political show and a test to see how much of decree by executive order is noticed/approved by "the people, for the people". Few cases (if any) were won by the Lily Ledbetter hoopla, but hoopla it got. Power to the people (not really, though)!

Since the people will have more money to spend all businesses will will increase in their sales there fore they will make up the difference. No need to raise prices or lay off. What part of that do you not understand. Our economy is stagnant right now no one can afford to buy what they need so businesses fold for lack of sales.I read your link.

WHO: John Arensmeyer, CEO of Small Business Majority, an advocacy group with 25,000 members.

WHERE HE STANDS ON HIGHER MINIMUM WAGE: Supports.

WHY:“We did research last year, a survey. Essentially, two-thirds of the respondents said they were in favor of it. Why? We’re keeping money flowing through the economy. Second, it reduces the burden on taxpayers by having fewer people on public assistance.”

“If people make more money, they’re most likely to be using it at small businesses. It’s all part of an economic cycle. Studies show it would put $22 billion into the economy and would create jobs.”

Come to Sawmill Road on a Saturday afternoon and go in and out of the businesses and don't forget to buy a little something so you can stand in line for 15 minutes waiting to be checked out. For dinner, try to find a decent restaurant that doesn't have a wait time of more than a few minutes. Try Hamilton Road in Gahanna or anywhere at Polaris. Not only do they pick up local business, but many folks in Ohio drive down to Columbus for a day of shopping. They don't spend the gasoline money to window shop. "No one can afford to buy what they need" is not true. And besides which, how many of those can afford their smartphones and their associated data plans? Cigarettes? Alcohol?

You can get quite a bit more than minimum wage and get public assistance if you have kids these days. Have you noticed how many young mothers don't want to marry the fathers, only live with them, and work low-wage jobs besides? Why do you think this option is attractive nowadays?

Arensmeyer Communications was a highly troubled company with multiple tax problems. It had five tax liens filed against it in two states totaling over $70,000 from 1999 to 2001, and in 2004, the California Franchise Tax Board suspended it for missing several years of tax returns.

Arensmeyer’s business trouble extended to his personal finances as well. In 2007, he filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy to erase $211,000 of mostly personal debt.

Even Arensmeyer’s nonprofit lobbying group, Small Business Majority, has had substantial tax issues. From 2005 to 2009, it did not file a single mandatory IRS 990 tax return.

In its 2010 IRS filing, the group claimed it received no contributions or grants in 2009, but records show $1.3 million worth of grants were made to Small Business Majority that very year.

except $10.10 is really $8.69 because of dollar devaluation of just 2013.

You will have no extra money because every import is going to be 14% more expensive than 2013.

He is not changing the minimum wage. He is changing what is paid by the federal government on contracts. Stop being simple.

If you would listen a little, it would be to educate. It is funny that you equate hearing the truth with being antagonized. It explains a lot.
