Charter schools among the most segregated in Ohio

There are 44 comments on the The Columbus Dispatch story from Dec 3, 2017, titled Charter schools among the most segregated in Ohio. In it, The Columbus Dispatch reports that:

By 1996, it appeared that systemic school segregation - in which attendance policies herded students into separate buildings by race - had been untangled in Ohio. A federal judge released Cleveland that year from 23 years of court-ordered busing, and Columbus abandoned busing for desegregation and returned to "neighborhood schools" and "alternative schools," a forerunner of school choice.

Charter schools are nothing but corporate money-grabbers. They teach nothing about life itself and they instill obedience to a 'leadership' that wants to brainwash and rape children. They keep it dark. Everyone of them - RIP OFF PRACTICES AND MONEY STEALING ENTERPRIZES. Kids got no identity and there's no soul.
Been there done that

They teach creationism in science class and that there's no such thing as climate change. Our tax dollars pay for it. K-12 online learning was started by the same people who started the right wing Christian Conservative merc group Black Water.

Learn yourself something before you run your mouth. The majority of charter schools in Ohio are not evangelical right-wing christian recruiting camps, they are ghetto elitist 'private' academies where uneducated minority 'parents' enroll their kids for glorified babysitting - stealing funding from public education and causing a shortage of real teaching institutions. And then in 3-5 years when the schools charter is revoked because the school continues to fail at its number one mandate, which is to educate - but having stolen millions from tax payers, the kids reenter public education 3-5 years behind their peers.(Are you beginning to see the self-perpetuating cycle??)

This is another shining example of a failed leftist attempt at providing special accommodations to those who refuse to take advantage of and use the many resources already at their disposal.

STOP THE INSANITY!!

Take a look around. Charter schools are ALL evangelical right-wing 'christian' recruiting camps AND snob factories AND ghetto elitist 'private' academies (in an oversized trailor or shack) where uneducated minority 'parents' enroll their kids for glorified babysitting - stealing funding from public education and causing a shortage of real teaching institutions. It's ALL those things. Then there's these online money grabbers like Capella and Trump university. All of these things are RIP-OFFS. The Feds give vouchers for all this crap, they gibber like monkeys and pass the dead presidents to these self-appointed experts and the kids ain't taught shyte. Then there's the perverts, although public schools have plenty of that too. Now we got incestuous dogs and SMFs in government, these creeps think it's a green light and free-for-all. Rip-offs, rapes, rotten education = the 3 R's. STOP THE INSANITY!!!

it is obvious you hate freedom

If I want to send my kid to a private school it is my right, and receiving a voucher for the property tax I paid to do so is very fair.

I have no school age children anymore, but if I did they would not attend public schools.

If you don't like your school district move. Nothing is stopping you but you.

if you can't afford to move, then ask yourself why, and fix it.

Nah! There is more to freedom than choice. By removing yourself and your passion (children) from public education (one of the pillars to America's success) we then leave that institution in the hands of those that refuse to understand just how imperative it remains as a foundation of our identity and sovereignty. Vouchers, charters as well as other prepayment methods undermine the idea of providing that service to all of our children. The problems arise when we allow special interests to start determining the direction of education - dumbing down the curriculum to accommodate those less interested in gaining knowledge is a perfect example. Punishing districts, scools and teachers for the choices parents and families make is ridiculous. As we, the invested, choose to remove ourselves from that 'fight' we choose to leave one of our most treasured resources to whomever will fill the void - private, charters, vouchers, online, etc...regardless of level of success!

Pubic schools are a disgrace today, and 3 years ago my youngest graduated from high school.

I almost pulled him out of school his junior year due to what the school was teaching, and the arrogance of the staff telling me they would make the decisions.

My son was to invested with peers and school activities.

Absolutely my grandkids will attend private school k-12.....all of them.

PS: 1 more year of college for youngest son and all 5 of my kids will have graduated with Bachelors degrees, and the 2 girls have Masters Degrees.

parents choice is superior to any school employee or government employee.

Seems one of us cares a little more than the other. For instance, no one was talking to your cousin humping ass, and yet you went out of your way to butt your nose into something that has nothing to do with you. Do the math, baby.
