What is up with all the semi-truck involved wrecks down there? Makes me want to come down and drive the Columbus are, especially during the holiday season!

hey dood--the semi was hit by the wrong-way SUV. If the SUV had you in your runabout, you couldn't have commented in the ill-manner you did! Read the story!!

At that hour, the guy in the SUV was drunk...no doubt about it...not a suicide. Had it been during the day, then yes, suicide. Not in this case. Poor Semi, that guy will be scared emotionally/mentally for the rest of his life.

It wasn't a suicide at that hour....it's called drunk driving and he is very lucky that he didn't kill someone else! No sympathy from me to that unlucky driver...but my condolences go out to his family and the truck driver because this will forever stick in his mind

Drunks can't commit suicide? Maybe the alcohol gave Mr. SUV the courage to do it.

I just spent 2 1/2 hours driving into Columbus for work because of the idiot

I'd like to sue his estate on behalf of the thousands of drivers he inconvenienced!

Maybe flashing neon signs that say "Hey Dope - you're going the WRONG WAY" ... at the off ramp (obviously that's what he took to get on the freeway going in the wrong direction) would help to stop this!! Something has to be done - this happens way too often around here! Of course NOT drinking and driving would help but you know that's not going to stop!

I got hit by an old lady going southbound in north bound lane south of 161 last year almost head on colission she hit 3 other cars one behind me head on (everyone survived). I think they should put those one way spikes on all ramps so if you try to get on the freeway going the wrong way it busts all of your tires and you can't drive.

More reflective tape/signs needed...saying...WRONGway.... or motion detector activated alerts/signs.....I don't care drunk or not, this driving wrong way is getting out of hand....how about the oneway spike bars used in parking/rental garages...

The spike thing is a good idea.BUT,occasionally emergency vehicles have to do that also. SO,If there were such a thing, they would require a system to lay them down if needed.

So people only kill themselves during the day while they're sober? That comment makes no sense at all.

I-71 southbound is open and moving fine.
All three lanes of I-71 northbound exiting to 36/37 Sunbury exit. 36/37 eastbound is one lane and very backed up. I would avoid I-71 north and 36/37 east. 2:02 PM.

Well, there hasn't been any evidence as of yet that the SUV driver was drunk, any evidence that's been released to the public that is anyway. For all any of you know, it could have been a medical issue such as a diabetic reaction etc. which could have impared the driver.
sorry

The guy crossed over into SB lanes. He did not enter the wrong way on an entrance ramp like some people here assumed.( I know be ause we just drove through the accident scene). This happened where 3 lanes goes down to 2. Not to jump to conclusions, but maybe he was just some guy going to work and he fell asleep??
In any case ODOT needs to add cable barriers!
