If people stopped giving them handouts, this might stop. Seems like a good idea to me. Dont be an enabler.

For years and years this has been a big problem for the Short North area and it does hurt the business. I know of one in particular a few years back, the guy was begging and collecting GOD knows how much money. Then I saw this bastard go in the alley and drive off in a mercedes binns....sorry yall I lost it...I threw a rock and f....k up the window. So if there is any cops on the post it was over 10yrs ago....... Anyway they should be arrested not just for begging (its their rights ...I guess) but for the way they approach and disrespect people. I hope the Short North Businessmen/women get it together to solve this problem.

W. Broad street has them, they follow you to your car at the Krogers and will get in your car if you don't lock it! Watched them go straight to the store to buy booze too many times so now we will just buy them food.

There are many out there that beg for money to support a drug or alcohol addiction; however, there are some out there who are just down right having a hard time. Use your common sense... don't just wash your hands of these people... you may be there one day too.

I dont think anyone has an issue with the guy sitting on a bench with a cup saying "any change?"

the issue is the guy that follows you down the street.. "come on man.. I know you got money.. i saw you in the cup o joe drinking coffee".. so all I got is my card and no cash.. and they still haggle you crazy...

The homeless people really trying to make a difference are the ones selling the newspapers .. at least they are a legal Business selling papers.. i'll sooner hand them a buck than i will the crazy lady claiming she hasnt eaten in 3 days that I offer a new bag of cheez-its from my backpack and a bottle of water who says "I dont want that crap! you're tryin to kill me..".. obvious she just wants crack money.. she can get it somewhere else

Careful, one day you may be a panhandler. Even tougher days are coming.

Enforcement of the matter needs to happen ASAP. This is also a huge problem on OSU's campus. Whenever I go to the Exxon on Summitt, I'm approached before I even get out of my car for "a few dollars." It's obnoxious and it seems like most of these individuals have mental problems. Somethign needs to be done!

The beggers down around Columbus State are a pain also. When called, the campus police come and talk to the guy and leave. The guy doesn't leave, the police do. I have seen these people block a womans progress down a city street. More then once, I have escorted a lady around a panhandler because they were about to grab the woman. When will the police do something about this? They refuse to look for felons because they have poor morale. The bums should be easy. More people need to stand up to these nutz. If you see someone getting abused, stand up to these people. Be men for gods sake.

I see the same old boys in the South End. The hold signs saying they are "Homeless". Once they collect enough cash, they go to Speedway and buy their beer and off to the local motel to get drunk. Who's paying fot the motel? Thst's not homeless to me! Same old routine for two years or more.

What grinds my gears are the ones who act like parking attendants at the lots.

How much does a tattoo cost? Why is it that people on food stamps and asking for help can afford tattoos but they are always begging for money, using a cell phone, on Section 8 housing, and getting Obama-care?

Obama-care will take care of you. Give you a job... give you medical benefits. Re-elect Obama.

Have them all sleep in the parks that Mike Coalman built. Or have them sleep in the Section 8 housing area (under the $60 million dollar bridge leading to no-where) that Mike Coalman built. This is Mike Coalman's idea of helping the inner-city homeless by providing them housing. Mike Coalman is a good man!

I saw a guy standing along the exit of 71 and Morse with a sign. A driver handed him 10 dollars and he just stuffed it in his pocket and kept standing there with his sign. It didn't seem like he was hungry to me or he would have began walking right away towards a place of food.

I agree the aggressive ones are the problem and only they should receive enforcement of the law. I think it's wrong to criminalize those who are passively trying to survive. Times are hard and are gonna get mush worse. Hope all you haters don't find yourself in that situation someday.

The ones I don't mind on campus are the ones that collect cans, at least they're trying. All the rest of them can get out or go somewhere else, why the hell are they begging poor college students? And threatening them when they are wasted during the middle of the afternoon. Most of these people are low-life addicts and have only themselves to blame for that.

I hate the ones that lie, and say their out of gas, bus money for doctors app.,need only 75 more cents to do this. I seen a guy follow people and ask if they would put food on his foodstamp card in exchange for cash. Most likely they can be the same one's taking your air cond.,gutters, copper from houses, etc. The best one was, a driver pulled up and asked for money because they was about to break down.??? WHAT is ABOUT to? JUST SAY NO!!!

And I'm not from Marion, not sure why that's showing up. I'm from Cleveland and have been at tOSU for 5 years(undergrad and now grad school). I just think it portrays a terrible image for our University when there are visitors in town for games etc.
