All these goof-offs and frat rats in college had areal good time living high off the hog (pizza and beer) on borrowed money, when the payments come due now watch them cry and demand a government bailout. Pay up all you fools and cry babies.

I know exactly how she feels. I really want to save for retirement too but the with the economy the way it is, the mortgage, 3 new car payments, the boat and camper payments and the vacation house on the lake seem to take up the money. The government should just waive all the college loans or those kids will end up like me - broke.

..... Yes it does, because the overall economy requires maximum possible spending and students do a minimum of spending.
..... First things first:
1) Get highest possible marks - later employers will pick only the best, and hopefully you will be one of them. Use your time properly while you are in school.
2) Once you got a job work hard to get promoted. Repay your debts as soon as possible to save paying interest on your debts; that means NOT spending on many things.
3) Once you got your debts down to zero start saving for your retirement and the coming "rainy days".

Why is student debt so high?
Interest rates are at historic lows and have been through out Obama's tenure.
Is it that the Department of Education is ineffectual and therefore unnecessary, even counter-productive? Is it that Obama's focus like a laser on jobs is merely observant and not joined with a process for improving things?

In short, is Obama an effective leader or just another complainer who hopes for change, expecting others to so the hard work of correcting problems?
